The boats race around 100 MPH. I ran 9 races last season on one set of powerheads. You can race the season for about $5,000.00 per race with entry, fuel, and expenses.

Shane,
The boat that won Miami (out of five entered) was the DVC boat. The DVC boat is the result of six years of R&D. It is currently the fastest UIM certified Stock boat. Of course we hope some other builders show up at the Kilo's this year. The next generation of the DVC boat is already on the drawing board. It will Rock. If you are looking for an alternative.....

I bought mine because I thought it was an economical way to run a cat. I quickly learned nothing is cheap. Aside for maintence, we went thru a lower unit, a complete power head, and a lot of fiberglass. Over the winter it was buying a spare lower and rings, bearings and gaskets. If you want run with the big boys you will need 2 spare drop on power heads and lots of spare parts. On the up side, they are excellent to work on. I can work on nearly everything myself. And above all else they are an absolute blast to run. Used competetive boats run between 100-170k.

Ryan, could answer that better. From what I understand, they are limited since Merc doesn't make them any longer so prices are all over the place.
