Masking tape numbers on the dash?

It is a well known fact that as a group, boat racers can not
count. We pull off a piece of tape each time we pass the start
finish line to keep track how many laps we have done. When
there is no more tape, the race is over, although a lot of
teams will do an extra lap to be sure!

The bad part about that is the crew members cant count either. We have to write it down too.
