I think 'respect' is a better word. Marc Granet was racing a 32' cat when he was called to drive the turbine MTI. Scott Begovich was racing a 24' V bottom when he was called to throttle the turbine MTI. They jumped right in, put hundreds of hours in the cockpit testing, got comfortable with the boat and have never looked back.

For you to say they are 'afraid' of the Mystic is an insult. You owe Marc and Scotty an apology.

[Edit-They ran 210 their first time out in the Mystic with Callan's graphics still on the boat. I don't call that being afraid of the boat.]

You would be down right stupid to NOT Be Afraid of it. Without a lot of seat time in that specific boat, those speeds are way too danagerous to just jump in a go.

I think Scotty answered you just above your post. Scotty and Marc have hundreds of hours of seat time at speeds approaching 200mph. Not only that, they have the fastest man on water advising them.

Here's a video of what I believe is their first run in the Callan Mystic. Had they been scared of the boat I doubt they would have reached the speed shown on the screen;

Looks like the boat is trying to become a plane. Lots of air being packed into the tunnel and maybe the tabs/drives are trimmed too high? Scotty would know those are his responsibilities...

That video is amazing.

I cant even imagine the acceleration of those T55,s.
For those that have ever operated a twin Turbine cat only
know. Never mind one with twice the power of the t53 Turbine.
Anyone ever see the Chinook Twin rotor Helicopter
they come out of its a monster.

It looks like a slight porpoise at 1.38 im sure the operators
could shed some light.

Back to the topic.
My 46 Turbine powered Skater has proven to me its been a great package dominating just about all water conditions thrown her way. Thank you Peter for building a great boat!

I believe that JC was throttling in the 210 clip.

The orange "Hell Fire"?

Yes Chinooks are huge that's for sure. They make those big turbines look small;
