gives OSS teams a place to race, especially the teams that have already paid the crew fees and now can race for free on TV.

Wahoo ATV 07-22-2009 12:04 PM

Racing for Free! I like that idea where do we sign up?

And TV too! Can't beat that...

raceguy 07-22-2009 12:09 PM

I thought oss was run by mr polli ?

Just to clarify, no one from SBI has ever spoken to anyone at the OSS office regarding this offer.

I like the way things are going with OPA and OSS right now, but it's always nice to be invited. I wonder if this offer extends to Key West 2009?

Wazzup Racing 07-22-2009 01:31 PM

Wow a free Kew West????? Bout time

Ron ,
Who own the OSS name and Corp.? I thought you worked for OSS, I think Bill still has the right to do with OSS as he likes.

Xtremeracing 07-22-2009 04:16 PM

Its all good guys, just another ave. for the racers and gives them choices. No need to add drama !

Ryan Beckley 07-22-2009 04:56 PM

bk1425 07-22-2009 05:31 PM

Oh for the love of Pete!!!!
Why ( I say again) why can't all of the orgs get together on some common ground and put an end to all this your welcome to race with me or race with them crap.

I see and like whats going on with OPA and OSS coming together, it only makes logical sense for other orgs to contact them for "merging" details.

I really don't care what org is racing the end result from a fan perspective is boat are running on the water and the teams appear to enjoy it.

DriverofDonzi 07-22-2009 05:56 PM

I agree with Brian completely....

I dont give a damn about which org is racing but I support Smitty and Ron 100% but hey I am a huge fan....

Chris

TYPHOON 07-22-2009 08:10 PM

I think after St Clair we can put this all to rest and work on the future. Thanks for the offer JC.

TYPHOON 07-22-2009 08:21 PM

Easy Frank, OSS was started by racers for the betterment of the sport as a not for profit Co. Most founding members are gone but some very hard working people still have the same passion for what it represents. No One person has the right to do with it as they want. Maybe someone has there name on a piece of paper but that can easily be changed. I thought you said no need for drama!

Xtremeracing 07-22-2009 09:59 PM

Randy,
Its all good hopefully it will help some teams, nothing more nothing less. I the hard time we r in now every dollar counts, the offer is on the table and the teams that take advantage of it great.
Best of luck to everyone and be safe. Hopefully we will see evryone in KW.

OSS is a Not for Profit corporation that is owned by the currently registered race teams. The organization is run by the President who reports to an elected Board of Directors.

At this time, Billy is a registered team member but not a board member. He can't bind OSS to a deal nor did he attempt to bind OSS to a deal with SBI. He simply worked out an option with John that he thought might be of interest to some OSS teams.

The funny thing is, this is similar to the deal I proposed in order to get all of the OSS to race in Sarasota....but was turned down.

Maybe if SBI would invite OSS and OPA to Sarasota next year under these exact same conditions, we could all race in one place at one time. If that's possible I would like someone from SBI to contact me directly and work out the details.

I believe Smitty and I are working together in the best interest of the sport. We invite SBI to do the same.

Xtremeracing 07-22-2009 10:44 PM

Good luck wish you guys the best.

Xtremeracing 07-22-2009 10:50 PM

Ron,
Just so i have it straight....OSS isnt a reg. name (corporation) with the State of NY?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
I think you and Smitty are doing a great job, and truly trying to better the sport.

TYPHOON 07-23-2009 07:48 AM

Frank, go bark up another tree. Why would you or any other person care how OSS is registered? You seem to want to know a lot about OSS and you have never raced a single event with OSS.
Is it time to start slamming SBI and there TV deal and boat count again. Your NY and MICH. are coming up lets talk about who is going and your business plan. I'll play Frank, should I start asking questions and you respond to all I ask? Here is how we will play. First I ask a question based on what I have heard on the rumor mill and then you agree with it or explain to everyone what you believe is the truth. But as readers we all need to remember that you dont work for SBI and you are a racer only that is limited to certain info about SBI and there business. You will only be told what they want to tell you because they run SBI not you. So lets play your game Frank.

TYPHOON 07-23-2009 07:53 AM

Frank whats the deal with the TV show? Why were there only 2 cameras in Sarasota?

Yes, OSS is a NY corp. So what? It has to be incorporated somewhere.

Don’t take it too seriously, racers are very loyal to there (or their) organization much like sports fans are to there (or their) teams.

Spelllling was never my storng point. :lolhit:

Well, at least the ratings for OSO are up.

This means nothing. John needs to be very careful. Mauf could not care less about breaking his own written agreements. I speak from experience.:bsflag:

OK, Mike I have to retract that statement. OSS was started by some people that didnt like the way things were going in there class and tried to do it a different way. They were passionate about trying to better the sport.

Maybe some of the minions who are now left holding the bag felt that way, Randy, but the so called "founders" and their corporate benefactors had far different agendas. You and many other little guys got suckered and screwed, and now the sport is in absolute shambles, pure and simple. If not for Smitty and to a lesser extent JC, there would be nothing. That is a shame.
