White Trash splashes

Barring unforeseen glitches, "White Trash," sistership to "Black Beauty," will splash tomorrow. With ITS and a higher X, we are expecting 2 or 3 miles more than Black Beauty. With a lot of luck and the right prop, and a sudden arctic front, that new Kryptonite might even hit 90. Which wouldn't be shabby at all for a 525 equipped boat.

We had no luck obtaining the hose which we have donated to Black Beauty. We'll fit a generic one for the moment.

Message to Mercury Racing: Update your parts database. Distributors cannot find the HP525 at all.

Congrats Peconic and best of luck in testing, I cant wait to see it in AC. trent

Doc 07-10-2003 11:11 PM

good luck.

Peconic 07-10-2003 11:11 PM

Thanks, Trent. Looking forward to meeting you too. Am still working on Kirk Rogers to race in AC. The deal offered to him is:

If he races, the boat will be entered as "Team Kryptonite."

If he wusses out, I will enter it as "White Trash," will pilot it myself, and being a nice guy, I will finish last.

Will you be racing in AC, Trent? Or can I interest you to pilot "White Trash" (or a name of your choosing ..) if there is a wussing condition?

Treadwellmotorsports 07-10-2003 11:14 PM

peconic,

so i assume you bought white trash.?????

Treadwell

Peconic 07-10-2003 11:18 PM

You better believe it. Last January. Kryptonite is an equal opportunity boat builder. They sell black and white boats.

Whatever the color: Highly recommended.

AugiePensa 07-11-2003 06:03 AM

Peconic, break a leg....see you in AC.

BODYSHOT1 07-11-2003 07:30 AM

You know about the cobbler's children ....

Could someone please PM me Kurt's phone number? Or whoever assigns the OPA race numbers? Or do we know one that's not taken? We need one.

I showed Kirk the design for "White Trash Racing" and it looked real enough to make him come with me to Atlantic City. We"ll be arriving Sat late.

The boat had issues with the steering, and it was getting dark when we had it out. Also, friggin Smartcraft needs a computer expert, we had no gauges whatsoever. We'll test again Monday.

Peconic..
Kurts # is 732 477-7400. you can try him tommorrow am. he should be there in the AM. otherwise , leave a message and he will get back at ya.

Peconic 07-11-2003 09:20 PM

Thanks, Bruce !

RLW 07-11-2003 10:04 PM

I like the K-Plane placement. Makes more sense to me to have it parallel to the strakes rather than parallel to the deadrise.

Peconic 07-11-2003 10:09 PM

By the way, this was my design for "White Trash Racing." We'll trash it.

Peconic 07-11-2003 10:11 PM

RLW: Kirk's invention. It actually extends the lifting strakes. Randy has that also.

F1-00 Racing 07-11-2003 11:12 PM

Looking good Peconic. I'll be up there with Bruce as his and Paul's Nav. I'm glad Kirk is coming down with you and thanks for the b/u oportunity. If anything changes on your end, get up with Bruce and I'm sure you guys can come up with something. I'll be coming in Friday morning so I'll see ya when you get in. Be safe and see ya nxt weekend.

trent

Peconic 07-11-2003 11:53 PM

Roger that, Trent. Kirk, being the father of the boat, has first dibbs of course. But never say never .....

tripps 07-12-2003 06:23 AM

There's gonna be alot of white stuff at Superfest!!! Good luck with your boat peconic :D :D :D Tripps

TYPHOON 07-12-2003 06:42 AM

Looks great!! What size prop? And do you have extras for me to try? What class will you run?
Leaving for The Lake for the weekend in an hour, hear from you all Tuesday
MD

Peconic 07-12-2003 08:26 AM

Thanks, guys. We ran a 30 Bravo last night. Randy's wheel was (I believe) a 28 Hydromotive ... based on that she should take at least a 32 Bravo. Hard to tell without a tach. No extras here. Need to get some. What's the best & fastest source for wheels?

Randy: Merc Scan Tool is ordered, should be here any day. I'll bring it to AC and disable your engine ...

We want to run P4, but if we can't solve that engine problem, we'll have to run as Turn 4 ....

Treadwellmotorsports 07-14-2003 08:09 PM

peconic,

thanks for the offer but i will be racing a diffrent boat. maybye next time. let me know.

Treadwell

good luck. oh if randy was running a 28 hydro then you would use a 31 bravo. i have plenty if you need them.

Peconic 07-14-2003 08:25 PM

Thanks, Tread. I'll try to obtain a 32 Bravo tomorrow locally. If I'm not successful, you'll be hearing from me.

Randy hit the limiter with that Hydromotive. Today, we beat the limiter senseless with a 30" Bravo. We both need more prop.

Ron P 07-14-2003 08:39 PM

So what was the problem?

BRUCE SEROFF 07-14-2003 08:45 PM

Eric...

Is it safe to assume that you will be joining us in AC? Afterall, it is your backyard.

Peconic 07-14-2003 10:47 PM

Ron: The problem was the engine computer. All systems dead. I had a scan tool overnighted (http://www.Rinda.com , very recommended ..) and an hour later we were on the water and happy.

So, you going to take a lesson from the master in A/C? Or do you think you have something to teach them?

Are you bringing your sponge?

Peconic 07-15-2003 12:49 AM

Teach? I am your very humble rookie.

And do us rookies have to BRING sponges? No sponges provided?

Ron P 07-15-2003 08:50 AM

Hummm, provide the sponges? We'll see.

Treadwellmotorsports 07-15-2003 09:40 AM

bruce,

i will be there. can't let you guy's play in my sandbox alone.

Treadwell

BRUCE SEROFF 07-15-2003 12:01 PM

Tread.....

Will you be racing one of the Bat Boats?

Peconic 07-15-2003 08:02 PM

Had her out again today. 83 on the GPS, stock 32 Bravo 1, 5250 RPM. Maybe a couple of miles faster with a hot prop. Randy: Don't worry. Your are the Emperor of racing, and Black Beauty is the Empress.

Let's have a prop swap fest in A/C. We will be bringing some. Eager to try some more.

Peconic 07-15-2003 08:04 PM

Tread: Please send your phone number. If you still have the 31 Bravo, I'd be interested. Delivery in AC. Could bring us to 5400. Limiter kicks in at 5450.

xtremeracingf1 07-17-2003 01:54 PM

Peconic,
The math doesnt work, you have to have a huge slip fact or have the drive mounted to high. The math works out to be 93.33mph and thats on the low side. You might want to try and Hydro Motive prop alsothey work much better at those speeds.

Frank
Koolhand

Peconic 07-17-2003 08:33 PM

Frank: I know. Those are the numbers that came out of Kirk's calculator. We are in touch with Throttle-Up. They want some more numbers and then magic will be performed.

Jr, and I had Randys boat in our hands today, BIG mistake on his part. out smokin around the bay, came up on a sail boat race, could not resist running their turn markers, Cant tell you how fast it went, but we passed a lot of sailboats.

Peconic 07-18-2003 03:08 AM

Yeah, that thing is wickedly fast. I trust you are observing all posted speed limits.
