Default Tribute to Navigators

At the SBI Orange County Race, Johnny Stanch of Panther Racing, came with us to help transport The Delicate Sound of Thunder. Johnny was slated to navigate for us. At the drivers meeting we were informed that we could race twice. The first race was Poker Run boats and the P Class. The second was the National Boats. John allowed us to compete in both, wow two races in one day! So I figured I owed it to Johnny to let him drive the mighty Wazzup, and I would navigate the first race. Drive it he did to victory. I gained a whole new respect for navigators. I will never ride in that seat again!!!!! No control over anything. After the race there was no way I was admitting any fear but boy was I glad that was over. On to race two. This one was just for fun. Jr. put the boat on the pins and never lifted, it was a game, of go ahead see if you can turn it now.... After the race, Johnny who was now in the navigators seat looked over and said never again. I bust out laughing, and said i'm glad you said that. I was too macho to admit it, but you need big stones to ride in that seat. So to all you navigators out there, My hats off to you. Smitty

I sure know what you are talking about. Gives a whole new meaning to "getting a handle on a boat."

Looking forward to be scared at the Eastern Shore ...

Well at least im not the only one to ride in the Mighty Wazzup and pray for the race to finish. I thanked Smitty for the ride but god could not get me out of that boat fast enough, But anytime there is an open spot you know where I am. Fun to watch, painfull to navigate!! Thanks guys!!!

That's why I never asked you for a ride during the race.

So, your going to torture Scott Blue in MD?
