With 392 posts in 8 days on Wetpits (49 per day), I don't know how he has gotten anything else done.:D

Just kidding......calm down.

Mike A. 12-31-2003 01:11 PM

I guess that explains why Bertel threw me off the Pits. "Heeeden ayendas? I ain't gawt no heeden ayendas."

From newbie to board member of the boycotters!!! Now Bertel, one must ask if you intend to rename the sham website of yours to the OSS site? I am certain that with your high moral and ethical standards you would not dream of being the webmaster of a site that solicits ideas and input from racers of other organizations to make the sport better while serving as a director of a competing organization, now would you???

OK, racers, study these guys and ask yourselves some basic questions like?

Who are they?

How many of them have been racers for more than one year?

What have they done for the sport?

Do any of them have new boats coming that might fit within their new rules but perhaps not APBA's??? In other words, do they have an interest in seeing the rules evolve a certain way?

Do any of them make a living off, from or around the sport??

Any conflicts of interest here?

Do any of these guys actually own raceboats and if so, how many?

Now are they a sanctioning body or not???

Can the sport support 3 sanctioning bodies?

Does it need 3?

Do you want 3?

Think people. 88 ENTRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! in St. Pete. Great racing. Fair racing. Level playing field. Excellent rules enforcement. Great staff of people. Great television. 100 years of history. And why the boycott again? Because I was a nasty, meany who some people did not like taking orders from?

OK, so shortly I am gone from the sport except as a fan and maybe a racer. So now ask yourselves the question - Why are these guys doing this again?? Then go back and ask yourselves the questions posed above. Then think, think, think, think. Then act...fast.

Mike

Can you elaborate on what you mean here? In the beginning of the paragraph
Thanks Mike

Scott

That at this point it is the $250,000 question. I asked Mike on another thread and all I got was a response from Scotty Applegate stating that we would find out in time. I hope they come thru on their promise of a schedule being released on Jan 4th. Gino and Gordo need to know where they will be racing this season and soon. (sorry guys had a shot and took it, but I still love ya'll hehe)

One other question I have to anyone is, is that 88 boats keeps being stated for St Pete, is that registered boats or total boat count. I know about 15-20 raced in the P classes and then raced on Sunday in their normal class. So that tells me that only 68-72 boats were actually there. I am not trying to be technical but I also dont like buying bridges either.

Gordo 12-31-2003 01:53 PM

When a private forum for racers was suggested, I thought it was a great idea. When wetpits was started, I still thought it was a great idea.
A friend and well respected member of OSO once told me that the reason he was against "wetpits" was because it had "hidden Agenda" written all over it.
I disagreed.
I was wrong, and I now stand corrected.
For those of you not allowed as wetpits members, (Actually, I think everyone was allowed...), it has rapidly become the message board for the new "OSS boaters association".
The saddest part of this is this; A team that I have the utmost respect for, two very talented World Champion racers, were given a LOT of TV time, recognition and exposure by APBA Offshore. Now it seems their team owner and spokesperson has endulged in his own personal campaign against the very sanctioning body that has been so good to this team, and is aligning that team with the very group that has inflicted potentially catastrophic damage to not only the same sanctioning body, but to all of us racers who have supported each other, helped each other and raced with each other knowing that we were ALL part of the Big Show.
Sad.

On the surface it looks like a pretty strong board. Aside from the successes they've all enjoyed in business there is project management, sales & marketing, advertising, technical and investment people. Everything you need to run a business. If they can all play together this is going to be a very strong team.

THEJOKER 12-31-2003 02:09 PM

I think having Bertel in OSS will only make their destruction even quicker , good for him. There are some positive things happening in APBA Offshore and a new leader will be announced soon. Be patient , take it easy on the BS and we will certainly weather these obstacles. BH

Phantom1 12-31-2003 02:35 PM

Gordo sums it up very well.

Everyone please read his post twice and think about it.

This is the exact thing that happened in the 1980s that got things as screwed up as they are now. I guess we will never learn.
Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.

That's RIGHT !!!!!! Here we go again !?!

Dig up an old Powerboat magazine dated February 1993.
The article is titled, "Offshore Racing- On course or off?"
Excerpt from article- At the onset of the year (1992), there were four circuits all saying, "We're the One". Now there are basically two national circuits. One is APBA and the other is a joint venture betwenn Super Boat Racing Inc. (SBR) and the U.S. Offshore Racing Association....................................... ..............
The last sentence of the article reads, "You just never know what will happen next year," says Gary Pearson, president of (the now defunct) U.S. Offshore Racing Association.

Funny how Bertel was bashing me when I was asking the tough questions about the LLC. He was telling me that I need to stand behind them etc etc etc. Now look...he starts his board for racers past present and future, I am denied access and now he is on this board. Hey Bertel, you lied when you said there where no hidden agendas, you lied when you said your board was for racers past present and future and now after you bashed me for asking questions that would divulge the TRUTH you do this. :( :( :(

Mike,

You just don't get it do you?

merlin540 01-04-2004 09:20 PM

I JUST HOPE THAT MORE TIME IS SPENT TO MAKE THE P/CLASSES BETTER. WIRE TIES TO SEAL G/P/S BOXES. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

merlin540 01-04-2004 10:12 PM

USE A SEAL THAT IS NOT AVALIABLE EVERYWHERE, LIKE A HP500 ENGINE SEAL. IT WOULD BE EASY TO MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND PUT APBA OFFSHORE ON IT. THEN THERE WOULD BE DISCUSSION EXCEPT IF THE GPS FAILED. THERE SHOULD BE RULES IN THE RULE BOOK IF THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE IT IS A ISSUE. IT WOULD KEEP EVERY THING FAIR AND SQUARE. JUST MY 2 CENTS. ON A LIGHTER NOTE I ENJOYED RACING A I WILL RACE THE OLD 32 UNTIL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG. WHEN THAT HAPPENS LOOK OUT!! SEE YA

merlin540 01-04-2004 10:20 PM

ALSO DOESNT THE APBA RULEBOOK STATE THAT A PX BOAT HAS TO HAVE A ENCLOSED CANOPY UNLESS YOU SUBMIT A EXEMPTION TO APBA, POPEYES PX BOAT IS NOT TOTALLY ENCLOSED AND IT RACED PX IN ORANGE BEACH. WERE THE RULES BENT THERE TO FILL THE SHOW BECAUSE OF THE SUPER CAT SITUATION?? JUST CURIOUS. THEY RAN HARD AND DID A GREAT JOB, JUST GIVE OTHER ROOKIE RACERS A CHANCE TO SHOW THERE STUFF AGAINST THE OTHER BIG BOYS. YOU MIGHT BE SUPRISED WHAT COULD HAPPEN:)

mmwalters 01-04-2004 10:26 PM

Merlin I think it is way cool that the agitator boat still runs so great. I remember seeing it run when new, back in the 80s as Dirty Laundry. The 32' outboard hull High Risk still runs very very well. I guess skater knew what they were doing.
How about twist ties?:D

merlin540 01-04-2004 10:35 PM

BREAD TWISTIES????? THATS FUNNY. :D :D

Dredgeking 01-05-2004 03:48 PM

YOU GUYS NEED TO GO TO THE YOUNG BLOOD HOUNDS FORUM IF YOU WANT TO KEEP DIGGING UP DIRT.

Peconic 01-05-2004 04:01 PM

.... and why free Kreimeier? Klaus is alive and well in Germany (there we go again....) where he writes: "Bankers, stock market analysts and secret services anxiously observe the close connections of terrorism with the international financial system. Everything is interwoven in this world, the good as well as the evil. This is not new. The movie theaters of the 20s of the past century showed the monster Mabuse as a spider in the net of a worldwide plutocracy. This predecessor of Bin Laden manipulated bull markets and bear markets and drew the strength for his crimes – and the bread that he needed – from the stock market crash and inflation."

Phantom1 01-05-2004 04:17 PM

My post was deleted. You are kidding right?

Anyone can find out that information on any domain here www.whois.com It isn't exactly rocket science, although the site would not reveal Hoffa's whereabouts and the never seen before JFK photos were a little blurry.

I stand by my original post of public information. For those that didn't see it before it was zapped, feel free to PM me.

Posts 4, 8, 9 and 16 all insinuate that there is a "hidden agenda" and that Bertel started Wetpits with full knowledge of the OSSPRA plans. My previous (now deleted) post just pointed out public information that I believed would be of interest to those questioning the "hidden agenda". I cut and pasted the public information and did not "sling any mud". The information posted certainly would lead reasonable people to believe that OSSPRA and Wetpits are in bed together.

My post was factual and based upon public knowledge - no rumors - no name calling. It was very applicable to this thread. I am sorry that you were convinced otherwise.

outer42 01-05-2004 05:10 PM

DREDGEKING IS TRYING TO MAKE UP FOR HIS VACATION.

mr_velocity 01-05-2004 05:52 PM

Dredge should not be moderating both boards. Definite conflict of interest here. Pick one and resign from the other.

Dredgeking 01-05-2004 06:35 PM

THERE IS NOTHING TO RESIGN FROM. FOLLOW THE RULES. HOW IS BEING A HALL MONITOR AT 2 DIFFERENT HIGH SCHOOLS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST?
