Biloxi Racecourse WOW!!

Weather update: Advance elements report brilliant, sunny skies and high wind, approx 25mph. If that lasts, then it should make for interesting racing.
Augie & Smitty update: Augie's engine has been rebuilt overnight, tested and is good to go. A&S are about to go on the road.

When he was safty guy for APBA he was one of the few guys that made me feel like I was going to be ok out on the race course if something BAD happened. He just has the interests of the racers in mind and frankly I have to agree with him. If a boat stuffs or flips it can go MUCH deeper then 6 or 8 feet into the water, and if they do flip then you NEED water under the boat to get the driver and T-man out. He knows this as do a lot of others and that I believe is his concern. I do not see what he says as bashing but more tounge and cheek concern for the racers.

Jon,
You and Mike aren't the only one's voicing concerns about the water depth on that course:

For those who weren't at the races it should be noted that the course was run backwards from what is posted in the first post of this thread. Also, to address something else that was said, the boats were not running "a few hundred feet away from the wall", it was more like a few dozen feet away from the wall by the Isle of Capri before they took a gentle left hand turn towards (what's labeled on the map in post 1) turn 6.
