Re: Racing project (not boat)

Everything is Ferrari except the motor, trans and axles. It fit surprisingly well. The motor is 2 inches further forward than stock. It helped the balance of the car out.

I was eyeballing the motor for my hotrod but the owner will not part with it.

damn tahts pretty cool taht it fit in without major issues or chassis/suspension reengineering required.

as for the old 360 engine and trans yeah taht woudl be rally neat to put into a wierd project. biuld like a classic "american hotrod" that is normally powered wiath small block or big block but instead have an italian gearbox and engine! certainly be an origonal concept with a VERY disinct sound!!!

Re: Racing project (not boat)

In it's first race we were running 3rd and the oil pump belt for the dry-sump on the engine came off. The driver ignored the flashing red lights (or they did not work) for three laps and seazed the crank.

It will be up and running again soon.

Pat when you were testing how well did it handle & how fast did it get up to? It's a shame it seized, that is one sweet car. Looking for replacement driver? Mike

Re: Racing project (not boat)

In testing it is much quicker than the normal racing version of the 360. It handles better not only from a power to weight side of things but because we have a little more front end bite because the cg is a couple of inches forward. The car is geared for 220. It will go more but we will only see that at places like Fontana where you can get on the bank. We will change the gearing for that.
I will keep things updated once it gets back on track.
