My brother and I went from Racine, WI to Arcadia, MI on the weekend you started this thread. (Labor Day weekend). We left Saturday morning clearing the pierheads around 6:40 and were docked in Arcadia and having a beer by 10:30. It was a GLORIOUS morning for the crossing. Heading was 32.5 degrees N. Something to the tune of 128 Nautical Miles.
Played golf at Arcadia Bluffs.. AMAZING COURSE on Lake Michigan. (Enjoy it more than Whistling Straits). Left Arcadia around 6:00pm, watched the sun set while in the middle of the big lake... and pulled into Manitowoc, WI around 10:30pm local time. We went slow and were fighting a 3-4 footers from a SW breeze the whole way.
Got up the next morning and left for Racine clearing the pierheads around 8:15 and arriving in Racine just a little after 10:00 am. What an incredible trip! The weather was fantastic!
OH, and I forgot to mention, I have a Formula 357.. white with red and black stripes. Twin 454's and TRS drives. Engines and drives have roughly 70 hours on them. She ran GREAT! Only cost me 1.7 tanks.. OUCH! (at the time anyway)
