Yes by the Joe, get there early and get right up on the coasties border, lots of anchor line is a must.

Chanel is 35 ft deep, the rule I always use is 3 times the depth, so I put out 100 ft and have no problems holding.

Watching a few clowns trying to anchor in the current last year was almost as much fun as wathcing the races!!!!
