Saginaw being so far from the Bay you would think th that one of the many water starved marinas on the Saginaw Bay would be a much better choice. It would be nice to make a run to Au Gres for lunch but have not been in many years due to water level.
I wonder myself. They have been dredging the upper river for the last few years already. The AuGres river had some dredging done around 2 years ago, I launched there and they were working on it. Was in pretty good shape (6-8ft) but with water down more who knows. I flew the entire shoreline of the bay a couple weeks back and it doesn't look good, especially the south and east sides.

I'm fairly sure the $11M is for State or municipal harbor of refuge dredging not private marinas or canals.

Whats bad about that bill is additional stuff was piggybacked onto those funds including new bike trails, purchase of lands for parks etc..

Bastards collect $400 a year per slip for taxes here in St Joe. I own 3.

Between our association and the yacht club next door, there are 90 slips.

These slips have been here at least 20 years. so 20 x 90 x 400 = $720,000 in taxes that go for nothing (we already pay on the condo).

After we pay all those taxes, we still get to foot our own bill for dredging, with no help from anybody.

Considering St Joe's 3 main marinas past Centenial bridge, plus the condos, yacht clubs, and houses, there has to be 1000 slips. Do the math. In 20 years these cocksuckers have stolen $8,000,000 from us boaters and have done not one stinkin thing other than collect the money.

Now, they want to dredge the side of the river those on our side never use, and they want to add 200 a year to our bill. We still have to dredge our side on our own!

Phawk!

This is the article that explains where dredging funds will go to other programs, parks and trails.

Yup, I've discussed the ice man with you before but the timing of this bill piggyback seems wrong.

Well holy crap! I just saw the updated version of the St Joe river dredge project. Looks like the river will get dredged in front of our and the yacht club's property! And they say to 6.5 feet at time of dredging.

If this actually happens, I'll happily pay almost whatever they want.

Allegedly starting in May after the fish run.
