how is the docking situation? I heard there is limited dock space for the most part of June? We are trying to plan a trip for the end of the month , would be need space for 42, 38 & a 35 , sounds like we might be better off waiting until all the docks are finished.. keep us posted those that are local

We were there yesterday for a bit. A and C dock are being worked on. Was told by 2 different locals the focus is to get C dock up and going before A and they are estimating Mid to End of July for C dock now. If your going up during the week, docking at B dock should be fine as long as there isn't a large island event. To guarantee yourself a dock reserve and pay for one at Middle Bass and take the Sunny S shuttle boat over to PIB. Not the ideal situation but at least you know you will have a spot.

ok thanks for the update, looks like a mid week trip would work better for our crew.. PIB must be loosing a ton of tourist revenue with construction going on peak season.. WTF were they thinking

Was thinking about heading to PIB this Sunday afternoon to spend the night then off to Cedar Point for Monday. However, with the Docks the way they are, not sure I am going to stop in at PIB. May just head directly to CP on Monday.

We are thinking same thing. Just saw on B docks FB page that they are rented out all weekend for some sail boat club

They have it reserved from 6pm Friday to noon Sunday. We might run up Sunday for the night and head back Monday.

Not a sailboat club..its the mills race, a fairly big race in the blowboat world.

We were there memorial day, just went over for the afternoon. We had no problem docking for the day. The guys working B dock told us they would be surprised if either dock is open until atleast the end of July. I thought C dock looked pretty good, not sure what they have left to do to it. The B dock guy said A dock has changed very little since April.

We will be up Sunday night to Monday morning, with or without boat. We'll check for you on B dock.

Well, I am not a certified dock builder or in the heavy construction business but we sat at the Boardwalk from 3:15 to 4:45 and there were 5 workers on a barge and they managed to set 1, yes 1, 12" diameter vertical metal dock tube in place with the crane. At that rate, it's going to be awhile. Again, I do not know the circumstances just an observation, someone needs to light a fire and get it done.
