All it it takes is one azzhole with a boat. Then he brings 6 more drunk azzholes. Multiply by 100. I didn't even take beer out yesterday because I didn't know the area, I had 3 on my buddies boat all day and 3 bottles of water. Somehow I ended up with a mix match case of cans???? Wtf... I was tied up across from the "master of disaster"

Very sad. I was there yesterday and left about the same time. The moot is a lot of fun and you don't have to be in the middle of the line to enjoy it. I never tie up in there unless I have two good friends on either side of me. Never had an issue in over ten years of going. If I see a kid sink a can, I make him pick it up. The kids nowadays have zero respect for the lake or boaters. Unfortunately accidents like this will ruin it for the responsible boaters eventually. Boating safety should be a requirement and an endorsement on drivers license. No that's not gonna fix stupid but help out a little.

Yea that's too bad. Sounds like there were a few guys on here at the moot. I'm out there just about every weekend. We usually anchor in between the line and shore where it's a bit calmer and walk in the line here n there. Just give me a shout next time you're going there and we can meet up. I'll be going to the raft off with a great group of people. Meeting at the light housees 10am to go in as a group.

I plan to be out there in my 30 Concept. Since I now own a V-Hull pontoon, everyone of my boating friends has decided to leave their boat at home and jump on mine... While I don't mind carting my good friends around, it leaves us as a single boat (possibly a 29 fountain with me) entering the line. So no telling what kind of butt holes I will end up with on either side....

Such a sad story to read about life's lost because of a boater like in the Baha. I don't drink alcohol and boat to much of a risk. Not only getting a BUI but hurting others. There has been others this year Miami where people died there was alcohol on board boat that caused the wreck but not sure if driver was drinking. I also heard of one in Texas where there was people killed . I am sure there is others that I have not heard but fast boat and alcohol don't mix. I have a fast boat not 100 mph ,not cutting any one down just say please use caution when alcohol is involved.

Not really much news, but an update anyway.

A coworker of mine is friends with the passengers of the Baja. He said the driver was pretty drunk, so it looks like he will be serving time very soon.....

Saw that on the news this morning. 25' eh? I know it was pretty rough in my 24' with all the wakes crossing. That's why I was just cruising back. I could imagine how out of control 60 was.

My wife got drift of this horrible event on the news yesterday and we had plans going to the raft off with another couple on our boat... well... now the couple backed out and my wife is re-thinking going out there... understand though... myself and my wife do not boat on SC ever really, we live on a decent size inland lake(which really is no difference to me because I still see complete jackass's out here on our lake) But I did go to the raft off last year with a buddy of mine on my 19ft powerplay and had a blast and didn't drink a drop of alcohol. The wife on the other hand has never been on SC or any big body of water and is now very intimidated/scared about going now.... and we have no group or couple to go with. So looks like we will be enjoying the sandbar on Walled lake this weekend. Its simple... drinking and I mean DRINKING and boating to not mix.
