Default Hardy dam hot boat

Thinking about going to hot boat this year. Was thinking of just overnighting on the boat up river at the small sandbars. Does anyone stay up there at all? Or is it a bad idea? Just curious. I know brower is a circus and with myself and @ freind it might be easier to use oxbow for the 32'. Haven't been since 13' and was with my older small boat.

Went last year for the first time and god willing the boat will be done enough to take it up there...I was gonna stay on the boat last year but it got frickin cold when the sun went down!! if its warm enough I'll probably do what youre thinking and stay on my boat...if you make it up there look for a Nordic heat with red/purple stripes and checkerboard on the side....there were 2 Nordics last year, mine and my buddies so shouldn't be that hard to spot lol

I used to overnight about 1/2 mile down from the sand bars on a regular basis with My 34 SCARAB.
Plenty of small coves you can pull into to get away from the crowd.

You'll have no problem with that size at Oxbow. We've launched the 43 there many times. The trailer is 51' with the drive guard. I'm sure it will get busy there too so early arrival will be important.

Thats nice to know thank you. We usually get there around 8 am in the last year's we have gone. But also we were using the ridge campground launch which was nice, but that was with the small boat also.

Oxbow won't be a problem. I launched the SCARAB there all the time. Never even had to use 4x4 mode.

There is fuel on the water upriver at River Ridge Resort (where M20 crosses the river, upriver from Brower) but I don't remember what octane. Someone on here should know or you could call them Contact Us - River Ridge RV Resort

If you're at Oxbow the Hilltop / Sunoco fuel station is right around the corner although it's not on the water. Hopefully someone else will chime in but I believe they have non alcohol 93 and they're supposed to have race gas (although ever time I've tried to buy race fuel "the pump isn't working today" and I finally gave up trying. Just a thought but if you have a small local airport they have certified water and alcohol free fuel. I've used my local airport & their gas is 100 octane and is cheaper than the 91 or 93 on the water.

Sandy Beach is almost straight across the river from Oxbow and is a nice ramp as well.

Brower would be my last choice, mostly because it's the farthest from me but also because it's a **** show. However, if you launch somewhere else it's a lot of fun to beach at Brower and watch the **** show

Cheers

Fwiw a oso member from east coast borrowed me a laboratory grade octane tester and the 93 at the bp on 131/8.miles tested at 91 and change octane, out of 40 stations I tested in michigan it was the only one to come up low. I will no longer buy gas THERE, Smitty
