[ATTACH=CONFIG]530116[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]530115[/ATTACH]I tried cutting the bottom for the pick up to inset, the hull is thin,maybe .100 thick,then it goes into the green foam coring, I didnt have the ability to make it look good or neither anybody else around here could,. first pick is the cp sea strainer, if i did it over i would try their larger one,2nd pick is my pickup

3rd pick is my buddys,i call it the long version, but at that time teauge called it their short,you can see the angle across center, remember i was doing mine i was predicting that if one wasent enough i could ad the 2nd pickup on the star side, but didnt need it

i got did up old computer for the detailed info/picks


the speedmaster boat has to have pickups, diff pick i just thru in

So do you have a pressure gauge in the dash or are you using a visual to see that water is flowing through the coolers?

I look out the sides sometimes make sure water is coming out.ive got some vids somewhere on oso


it was a temporary thing,to see if there was any pressure at the inlet of innercooler I guess it was free flowing, it never showed any pressure at the gauge,Dustin said it should show some pressure, but he said it must be getting enough and it hasent hurt it self, also the inlet air temp are pretty good when up and running, they get high when idling with no water running thru it, I think Mark changed the high temp idle part so it wouldn't go into rich mode.Jason tried it on his hustler and didn't see any pressure either. I tested it in the sea strainer and didnt get any pressure, I never got into real deep on testing different gauges and lines,

Good info Rob! Really neat that you documented so much of your project. A lot to think about for my winter project. (Drive reliability is key here) My boat ran a little shy of 80mph, 3/4 full of fuel and 5 people 2 weeks ago when I had it out. : ( The motors just seem to fall off after 5100. From what I read about the intake, it is the choke point. I was wondering if you have tried a 1.5 drive ratio and think if it would be more efficient than a 1.36? I've read that "A boat will run faster with a higher numerical drive ratio. In that, the faster a prop rotates the more power it takes just to turn it in the water. A slower turning prop with more pitch is more efficient than a faster turning prop with less pitch." What's your thoughts/experience on this? Also, what year is your hull and how does your boat behave at 85 -101mph? Thanks for the input.

Joe said that stock power its is faster with the 1.5. i think he said with the 1.36 they rad 28's, stock 500efis was 5275rpm at 85-86 claimed by hustler ,before i bought mine test drove one with 500efis and it ran 85 , low fuel and cool water,mine came with the 1.30,it was ordered to put blowers on it,bmax 1.30 at 5300 was 83-84 , computer reprogrammed,

They said at the 1.30 gear might run out of prop, i remember bblade and merc said that the 30 pt was the best inbetween prop, that bigger 34-36's were not a efficient,

I dont like luging a motor down , i dont mind buzzing it,the dyno sheets around 5700 it was only gaining 5hp per 100rpm,prop guys say prop 1000 above peek tq, but its pretty flat 38--4800, I guess its kinda like when Fountian was kicking ass coming out of the turns prms up,out pulling everybody, was able to turn more rpm down th e straight with some computer hiding,winning


the prop slip on my boat has always been high, the 30's were on the boat 13 years,many hours,never even nicked anything but im sure the blades are straighten out ,

if you plan on staying na ,ask around ,Linnie did it that and had driveablity problems, mark ar precision marine might have th combo worked out better now,back when i was hangine with richie Zull he di a max out effort 599eftm he pulled out all the race tricksmade around 698hpm but its ahotrod

I just bought a set of Herring 5 blade 28s,not sure if im going to be able to turn 6000rpm with these,ill try when it gets cooler and low on fuel before i put it up for the winter

at 765hp w/ 28p 4b bravo one props it ran 99 at 5900
at 848hp w/ 32p 4b bravo one props ran 102 5700 on a good day other wise props seemed to big

2010 rebuild on ethanol it made 883hp at 6000

last rebuild and new design whipples the boost jumped to 9-10 from 8.4. I had to buy new pulleys to slow it back down.it sure felt strong at that boost!! ,but would need race gas to run at that boost.

Also i would say anything above 750hp you will have out drive problems.

Let us all know how those Herring 28's do. Curious to see if you pickup MPH with those props. Another boat here in Clearwater FL has Herring 32's it with 1.5 B max's.
