You should be able to get quotes from a lot of different carriers for your boat. Make sure you look at the details of each quote. Actual Cash Value vs Agreed Value (or even better - Replacement Cost), deductibles etc. Markel has a great market for your boat with VERY reasonable rates. Foremost is another good option (I can help you with both). Please call or email because I will need a lot more info to see if you qualify for these programs. You can also complete an app on our site. www.empowermarine.com

You have MANY MANY choices on where you go. When you own a boat under 26 feet and UNDER 65mph you qualify for almost every program. As Insurance God said, make sure you have an agreed value policy, it's worth the extra couple of bucks you'll spend to have it.

Thanks for the replies.
It's my buddy's boat... looking to me for info.
He got a quote from Geico, but they won't let him leave the LI sound.
I had him call Worldwide marine for a 2nd opinion.
Shawn, i'll forward your link to him if he's still unhappy w/ what he's getting.

Agreed Value - Boat value of $40,000 and $5000 trailer
Inland lakes and Rivers (which I doubt since you are LI) - $779.00
Atlantic coverage up to 25 miles offshore - $1119
Subject to:
- Clean MVR
- Boat top capable speed under 65 mph
I would need your exact zip code and address to give you more exact rates....

Non-boat specialists love to say "no" to claims. All the big insurers will write this- especially if it's a homeowner with autos all with the same carrier.
People love to ignore this simple fact- the only part of insurance that really matters is when they're paying a claim, not the premium price. If you don't mind mailing a monthly check only to hear "no" when you have a problem, mail the check to me. Hell, I'll even cut your rates in half!
