Default Cat Insurance

Stacy, I have a friend (no not me) who test drove a 42 MTI cat while at Destin. It had 1075's in it. He loved the boat. He is considering a similar style and size cat with 700's. Top speed will be around 130mph. He owns a 38 Donzi ZR now, along with a 44 Sea Ray Sundancer. He has many years of boating experience with no major losses other than some hurricane damage to his 44. He is in his 40's. I don't think he has any cat experience. He has taken the UHP school for v-hulls from Tres and would take the cat school. Is there any way he could get insurance thru one of your programs assuming all of the stars lined up right?

Shouldn't have a problem at all. Tres' course is key to Markel if everything else is as stated.

Under 130mph, over age 35, boating school and past ownership... should be fine. We'll first try to get him through the same program you are in since it is much cheaper in comparison to the others out there if not then we'll go to the other one. Have him call me. Thanks for alway looking out for me! Did you guys have a good time in Destin?!?!

Gerritm - I'm sure Stacy can get your friend hooked up, but if not, please have him give me a call. The market I have for Cats is Markel and there should be no problem getting him covered. Since he has already taken Tres' V-Bottom class, the only requirement would be on water training in his Cat by Tres or Brad. I'm located in Houston and can get your friend a quote within a few minutes.

Thanks!
