I don't know why I am having such a hard time. I insure everything with allstate, they said no way period as the boat is to much hp.
Boat US says ok but requires a survey, I would prefer not paying for that.
Geico took my money already and now says the boat can only be insured by them during land storage. They will not cover it in the water unless they get a letter from Baja saying that it is ok to have the hp i have.Good ole Baja is out of business and the fools that make them now are no help as they don't even know what my hull is.
Funny thing is that I am trying to insure it as having stock 502 mags. I don't know what to do....

Have had Foremost on my last 3 boats. Not only are they very easy to deal with during underwriting, their claims seems to be even better. My last claim the adjuster never even came out. I provide him pics of prop damage, a small video of prop shaft run out, a copy of the invoice for the lower that was on there for 3 years and they sent me a check for the prop repair/relab, a new lower unit and the 3hrs of labor (including dive fluids and shop supplies). I will continue to deal with Foremost until I buy a boat they won't insure....

Thanks, I originally told my allstate agent that the boat had modified engines and before I could even get to the actual hp on them he said no. I guess your supposed to just say that they are the factory installed engines and never been touched? I was already feeling a little unsettled about saying 502 mags but thought they would hang up on me if I told them they were over 500hp each...
I did get a call back from the company, now they say that since "Baja Boats" went out of business they would settle for me taking the boat to any marine mechanic and have them send a letter to them on company letter head stating that the boat is safe to be operated with the engines in it. Now I just need a mechanic who will stick his neck out and write that letter.

Well we have someone's attention...does it matter. I just want insurance. I don't want to hide what is in the boat. I would prefer having coverage for the money spent powering it. I still am not having luck insuring the boat. Either to old or to much power for the hull apparently. Hard to believe for a boat that is technically 30ft and almost 7000 lbs.

im sure you meant to say stock 502s,415 hp.we all know ins companys never check high performance boating sites!
lol
