Has anyone had any experience using the r8tr app to get a boat looked at pre-purchase? I'm debating whether to go through a marine surveyor at $450 vs r8tr for $150. R8tr seems like a good setup, but the lack of reviews and discussion of it is frightening. I have only seen r8tr themselves reviewing how the process. Any info out there that is not from the source of r8tr...

If you need something fast, it seems that R8tr may be a good "first step" to see if it is worth moving forward with a survey. I would not sidestep an official survey before purchase. Your insurance company will probably want one anyway.
