The boat is going to be powered by a pair of the new generation 300HP Yamaha V-6 engines. We are excited to test the boat. We recently recently repowered a 2004 32' Regulator which weighed in at nearly 12,000 pounds with the same engines. The boat was originally powered by the old generation 225HP Yamaha engines and had a top speed of 40-41 mph. After installing the new 300HP Yamaha engines the boat now runs 58-59 mph. We are anxious to see how the Latitude performs which weighs in at approximately 6,500 pounds.

Thanks for the interest.

Sincerely,
Fred Brady

How do those motors compare to say the X/S line or Verados'?

The new Yamaha V-6 is a four stroke so it is comparable to the Verado rather than the X/S line. For the most part these engines are leading the competition in every category. I have attached a link that gives a comparison of these engines and the competition. At the end of the day everyone has a preference for whatever reason. Allstar Marine services every brand and each has their highlights and low lights but we truely have had the most success with Yamaha and we think they have really done their homework once again.

That engine looks pretty good against the competition. Hope you get 70 out of it!

dkwestern,
70MPH is our goal. Although we are not going over predict. The Regulator really boosted our confidence though. Time will tell. Getting closer to completion.

Thanks Nkosi, Dave is definately the man. His arch and leaning post turned out great on the boat. His attention to detail is second to none.

Do you guys vacume bag? Why is it a 35' boat, weren't the Powerplays 32, but marketed as a 33?

thanks

I think it's a newer coast guard requirement that the bracket and engines must be included in the length. Same way the Concept 33 was renamed Concept 36.

sixmassive,
Every Latitude boat is vacuum bag. We also bond the boat three hundred and sixty degrees. This essentially makes the boat a one piece boat. The windows in the attached photo are used to bond the sides. The bow is access through the cabin, and the transom throught the rear hatch. Other brands claim they bond but you have to ask the question if they bond the entire perimeter. Nkosi is correct. The Coast Guard now includes the engine brackets in the length of the vessel. Hence the Powerplay was 33' and now the Latitude is 35' which includes the two foot bracket. When Concept first introduced their large center it was a 33', then a 35' which included the two foot bracket, and now a 36' which includes a three foot bracket.

Thanks for the interest.
