Got the call from Chris "Sr."- He said it went very well today. He said he and Ron really nailed it with a clean pull all around. Im really amazed at the sheer amount of highly skilled labor involved in the entire process.

Shauna sent one pict with Ron in it- with his socks on running around in there! Totally cool.

Awesome, just, awesome.

Its hard to get a feel for the size of that Boat in wide angle picts, but with Ron in the center you can really get a feel for how big it is.

"Jr.- "Thanks for the update.

BTW- I saw the youtube vid of you driving the 39 evo to catalina- niiiiccceeee.

Ya my pops said the bagging was one of their better ones and it hit real hard. Its hard to see in the pics the actual size of the boat.

And no problem, im hapy to help in any way.

Hmmm, ya thats just a 90-95mph "afternoon stroll" in the 39 EVO......

Dave, one of the most exciting times in the life of boat ownership is the build phase and the anticipation that goes with it. I'm pleased to see you fully engaged.

The outdrive thing will always be an issue. The new IMCO SCX was used in a acquaintance's new Nordic twin set up and it is a dog...sloooow. It eats hp and Fred Inman, Jr. is suggesting their original SC lower to the get the hydrodynamics better. It appears the upper is still a power eater.

My experience now with my Lavey 24, 710 Ilmor, IMCO SC has been good. I ate the SC upper on my Lavey cat, 900 BBC Whipple. I then got a Max Machine upper and it was wonderful. I ate it anyway but it took much longer. The 710 is a little more forgiving because the max torque is at an rpm level well above
the rpm required to came out of the hole and cruise rpm.

I think the current best outdrive for a setup like we run is an Max Machine upper and an IMCO lower. The IMCO integrated transom that I used is a really nice piece. As always, I am still concerned a little about the life of the IMCO upper. If I end up trashing it I will go to the Max Machine upper.

I wish you the best, Dave. Quent

Default Its like Christmas!

Thanks Quent!

Yeah I agree about the drive thing.
Ive gone through three gimbals and a lower in 10 seasons, 2 yrs ago I switched to a new XR with a merc ITS so far its held up but I'm only hitting them with 500HP.

The Teagues are supposed to be good for 900hp so 700 theoretically gives me some life.

When I bought my new 2750 it had the EFI500 with the XZ drive. I have since added a Whipple, AFR heads, Imco shortie and a Hering prop, run close to 100GPS and still have the original XZ upper. What have I done wrong?

I don't think you did anything "wrong" why do you ask that question? (BTW- ride sounds killer Id like to catch a ride in it someday)

I don't think you'd have had nearly the "luck" you have now if you had started with an original bravo 1 and no external steering which was my setup.

It was just my attempt at humor. Everyone has said how weak the XZ drive is and mine has lasted 6 seasons. I do have full hydraulic and that may have helped for sure. Be happy to give you a ride if we're ever at Parker or Mojave or Mead at the same time. It is a great ride, finally.
