Yes they do. They're fiberglass molded foot rests that are under the dash

The owner is a serious motorsport guy and likely has a good feel for the rig.

The race boat guys weren't afraid to turn their boat harder and harder until it spun-and deemed the setup at least one the EVO bottom not worth the the expense and effort to use.
I doubt a pleasure boat owner is going to test like that.

When it was all said and done he claims to be running 97 with an Indy and an Ilmor 725. That's for sure a fast boat, but the owner paid to thin out the skeg and put lots of time and effort into that so that setup isnt "stock itself" The end speed is not particularly impressive when you consider...The Merc 600 "stock" ran (I think) 101 with a bravo 1 on that same boat. I say "stock" because although everyone swears no on touched the engine -subsequent builds don't seem to be as fast per hp.

A 28 EVO goes 100 or a bit better with a 710 and a "regular" drive Bravo 1.

If you can get the same or better speed with a stout standard drive like an SCX and not have any turning issues you can save the the money for a surface piercing drive $$$$ and then the expense of 2-3000 per CNC milled prop- which would you choose?

Not to take anything away from the lavey cause they are great boats, but the two Outerlimits with 600 mercs have been 101mph (orange 600/xr) and 103 (red 600/ITS/XR) the 565 boat has been 99 (blue 565/ITS/XR), The Ilmor boat is off pace for sure, but the owner wanted to set it up himself, Also lives in different country than the boat does so development has been slow. The ilmore boat should not even be considered because it was not a factory setup. Also Those are full cabin boats, (is there a cabin in the EVO?) The race OL SVL29 supposedly runs over 100 with a merc 525 and ballasts removed. But again thats a race boat who knows what has been changed.

I think the outerlimts is over $ 70 k + more and made from epoxy and other light weight material so you have to take that into consideration when comparing the 2 boats

A surfacing single is going to paddle wheel sideways very hard. That's seems to hold back fast singles.

I think the buyers for the OL29 (for the most part) are OL die hard fans and have maybe size restrictions where they boat???...there is a reason they are being bought... I say this because with what they are asking for a 29' single....there are some nice twins out there for that money or close to it.... A new OL29 or a 2009-10 38 Top Gun with 525's...just an example.. The OL29 is real nice but its at the upper, upper end of what you can sell a single for... I think.

This blue Lavey is just fine

Have seeen 2 legitimate threats this weekend.

A wicked 1471 schiada up the canals from me thats literally epic.

A Hondo Pickle blown big block jet boat- on race gas exhausting through zoomies (120)
(-0-100 is a ****ing time machine into the future)

Other than that I annihilated everything this weekend.

Bring it on. If anybodies here tomorrow come on out.

All the Merc 600 boats are very fast and super easy to mod - It would be interesting to do a motor swap after the the run in both these boats.

The 28 evo gives up cabin access from the cockpit, but it does have a sparse cabin- where the OL's traditional style doesn't but the OL is a bit cramped compared to a bunch of other west coast 27-28"s including the 2750/29 on back seat space..OL is a small 29 comparatively.

The cockpit at sustained speeds in the Lavey Evo is a calmer environment- especially in colds temps.

The blown merc seems to be a bit faster in both boats here at the river/Havasu and high dessert.
Not surprising pitting blown vs NA in altitude and heat.

28 Evo still runs 100+ here with a 710 (at least with Bravo- not sure if the SCX will pull that down) so the difference in speed between a 710 boat and a 600 boat is minimal.

The ocean with cooler temps and sea level altitude - not so much.

Not a factory package?- not sure what you mean by that, each component carries the full factory warranty as far as I experienced with My Ilmor Merc setup.

Check out the valve train maintenance differences between the packages.

The Ol 29 as setup by Ol on the East coast seems the absolute pinnacle of 28 ft boat tech and an awesome machine Id love to own- and its commensurately priced at the pinnacle of the market.

as for the "Eliminator" version I can't tell if its as cool.
