Uncle Dave,
I've seen you post this a few times before but I'm still almost 100% positive you DO have a 2" shorty. I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive. I'll post a couple pics to attempt to show and prove this. Mercury makes two different types of sport master drives. The bravo 1 xr sport master, and the bravo 1 xr short sport master. The bravo 1 xr short sport master is 2" shorter, hence the name. In the first pic you'll see the bravo 1 xr sport master. The second pic is your drive on your boat. I have circled the portion on the bravo 1 xr sport master that gives it 2" more length. Your drive does not have this. Also, note how the bravo 1 xr short sport master (your drive) has a bigger/extended cav plate - most likely due to it being 2" higher and more susceptible to blowout/cavitation... http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...psefa0afc2.png http://i.imgur.com/Q1BAuqo.jpg |
Well i like it more now- but I like it less than my imco.
Pretty sure this ended up deeper than my original setup regardless of what depth it is, but interesting data to share. I see the extra depth in the pict. thanks JR. UD |

Had a great weekend in Parker.
There was some hardware out there. A Schiada or two prowling. See pict. There was a blown Hondo Pickle with a 1200 HP mill destroying short sections of river from time to time. UD http://i.imgur.com/c0LTCuE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UUbMxmO.jpg |

yeah....got my eye on a restaurant and I'll need to sell this and some other fun stuff... Funny... someone in Germany is somewhat interested in it.
|
Kind of cool... got my registration back from AZ...the boat is now in my name. But the state didn't assign new AZ numbers.. So - I get to keep the real nice painted numbers the previous owner put on. In all my past boats, I was forced to change the AZ number/info - not once have they stayed the same.

Whats up with the Germans and Laveycrafts ? Next thing we are going to hear is they are buying the whole Laveycraft business in CA. Or maybe they are going to splash the entire line up in Germany. Hmmm well anyways at least they are giving the Lavey brothers some business nowadays and in the past.

Boat looks awesome at Castaic!

Was at Castaic Friday. There were more cops than a gay Halloween party at that lake.
Nasty Crappy day. Made me dream of this day. Adam2-4's Lavey 24, Briggs 2750, Uncle Daves 2750, Johns Ski Supreme UD http://i.imgur.com/lGPVNjQ.jpg |

They are an interesting lot a I have been privileged to know and hang with a few over the years. Most recently in Vegas. UD http://i.imgur.com/irs53ZA.jpg |
ABSOLUTELY BAAAADASSS! Was this Duncan's? I used to run into him all the time at Folsom, Sac River, Tahoe. But it's been awhile since I've seen him.

Id love to build a version of this with twin Ilmor 570's.
The savings in width would alleviate a lot of the maintenance pressure and the weight savings would be notable. This wicked 600 boat would smoke it especially in the heat and or at altitude, but that combo has tangible upside. UD |

This boat was one of the fastest accelerating boats I have ever driven! To hard to decide if it accelerated harder than the 32 with twin 800's... Acceleration numbers like 0-105mph in 20 seconds! Here are a couple pics I tok when it was at the boat show http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps42945ac0.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps424cd564.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps4d242410.jpg |
