the 27 will run very neutral by nature. Raising the "x" will not help your ability to carry the nose with the weight forward. I would consider an 80-90 gallon belly tank to achieve better balance with your set-up. The "X" will natually go up with the bravo change, about 2" with 34" centerline.

There is a 27 Magnum in my club that runs 65mph on radar with stock merc. 350/260 mag carb motors. It has Bravo one drives mounted at a conservitive x-dimention. I expect my 350/450 motors to push 80mph.

Some of the guys on http://www.boatmad.com/forum know the boat very well and used to race against it, might be worth asking.

This one is the only magnum I've ever heard of over here - that's not to say there's no others, but this one (which was always beautifully prepped) is definately the most desirable.

Hi Guys,

thanks for all the comments.... My current top choices are:

1. New pair of 350's rated at 400HP+

2. New pair of 387 Strokers rated at 400HP +

Anyway know of a good Small Block engine builder in the USA??

I have my credit card at the ready...

Cheers
Geoff

Zul has built hot-rod small blocks (Armed and dangerous race boat in the early 90's), try him. Richie Zul; 631-491-7268 - I do not have firts hand experience with his motors, but that was a strong race boat powered with his small block motors. Good luck.
