Yeah......originally your engines would have very low rise intake manifolds so they would clear. And the reason your hatch is raised in the back is that the original Mercruiser exhaust manifolds had the riser in the back. I've seen several sports with your hatch and I agree....keep it that way.

The reason I know this is a long story.....

Make sense?

My hatch was custom made for the fuel injected engines but it looks tasteful and mimicks the volvo hatch which would have had a cusion on top.....

It was removed at some point along with some other deck items. I'd like to find and original bubble vent but they are pretty scarce.

What are the plans with your boat?.....here's another pic of mine...........man I miss summer!

hatch is perfect... depending on what you use the boat for mostly you could "build" some sort of sun pad if your lady friends are into lounging around.,....

Here's one on a 28 Maltese.....

There may be 2 different sizes. I'm collecting pics of 27 sports and some boats look to have a bigger "turret"

Yeah....thanks. I really like the boat and the original color was white/off-white. The boat has been painted and it's a very light classic grey.....close to the original.

I'm having a very light green windshield made....more like what would have been on it in the 70's. I like the boat to look old and classic.

myfinancialadviser,
I had a 3 man bloster in my sport and I dropped the floor in the front cockpit area almost 8 inches. Got you down lower in the boat for saferty
There is about 8-10 inches of the cockpit floor left on either side the drop floor section.

Thank you
Jim
