I have a 1975 25 Sport with a big block and a TRS drive. I have tried it both ways and did not see any difference. Some people that I spoke with said NOT to use a nose cone on a TRS because it messed up the water flow over the drive thus increasing prop slip which is not a good thing.

Two part answer:
My father had a 24' Pantera (single BBC), he added a hydromotive nose cone and he picked up 1 mph; however, his prop slippage was due to the prop selection, not the nose cone. The Hydomotive three blade had slippage, but the Mirage prop (23") hooked up well, better than the Hydromotive three blade and better than a three blade clever. His gain was 1 mph, due to the nose cone (73 mph to 74 mph).
The 27' Magnum Sport he owned had nose cones and very little slippage at all. He spun 27" Mirage props with cup added (labbed). I do not know if there was any mph gain because the boat had the nose cones when he bought it. It was a twin big block Chevy, TRS set-up. He also raised the drives to the rub rail, which gained about 1 to 1.5 mph by raising the drives.
What is your top speed?
