Can someone post all the real specs on a mid-70's Maltese??
Were they Kevlar built?? Or standard glasss??
What drive packages were used??
I see both volvo's and TRS.
Only small blocks?? I would imagine BBC's would be too heavy.
Any out there with a recessed floor at the helm/passenger to increase the freeboard??

I have some brochures with specs but I'd have to scan them. It looks like Magnum would build whatever you wanted.

My bud has his for sale in the classies.
Doesn't need much cosmetic work, and bbcs would sag her even more in the rear.

I found the below on iboats, which is a little less than what I was looking for.
5200#'s sounds light for this size. Kevlar??

i doubt its kevlar. As a 76 its one of the last boats delivered by don, or 1st by ted.
Brownie was there during this time, and would know if kevlar was used.
But 5200lbs... no way.

This one's on ebay, a fixer uper bids at $3000.00 looks a little rough.

OK, you called me out. That's the one I'm looking at.
Hence, all the questions.
I've been e-mailing back and forth with the guy, and I'm on the bubble - $3000 won't get it, but it's reasonable.
Motor's are toast. Need at least full rebuilds, if not just replaced.
Exhaust is shot. Interior shot.
TRS II drives - not necessarily a bad thing. I had a TRS in my single Baja 454, and loved it.

So, what makes it a Maltese?? I've studied so many offshore boats, and want something a little unique and old school cool.
Is it a Maltese because of the rounded fairing?? is that the difference??
I know I sound like I know nothing of the history of Magnum, but I do know a good bit, just never studied them as hard as some of the other classic boats (donzi, Cigarette, etc..).

more cruiser than the sport. but its not a cruiser.
