My family is doing a 10 day vacation in the Bahamas next winter, . . as I'm not a sit on the beach kind of guy . . I'm considering trailering the Magnum to FL for the winter and going over to Nassau by boat . . .we'll be staying at the Atlantis . . . which has a marina, crazy expensive at $4.00/ft 40' minimum . . $160.00 per night . . . but you only live once . .
some thoughts on this . . . .from those of you who have BTDT . . ..

I did that crossing once 25 years ago in my friends sport. I would certainly want someone on board with experience, but I imagine with gps and everything today its much less risky. I think Ft Lauderdale is a shorter run than Miami but not sure. Nassau is fun but again I would want someone on board with local water knowlege. Could really be a blast with all the right conditions. I was also just at Atlantis with the family, that basin is ultra high end, they will certainly crush you on the docking fees.

Scippy,
Windsheild is scheduled for this weekend, we're supposed to have 75+ degrees, so I can uncover the boat . . cutting a cardboard template from dimensions established from autocad.
I want to make the front two sides from one piece, heated and bent in the center . . .
so it's nice and strong when I stuff it on the way to Nassau . .NOT!

Mark, How common or rare are thev "Vee" 27 sports? I typically see far more straight windscreens, but not sure. nice example of the low "wind in your face" profile shown.
