Default Real Magnum Canada

After my discussion with Jim I think it is a legitimate Magnum made in Canada. I will check with Magnum and the head accountant who might have been around when the deal was agreed to. Taxes were a big issue then and even now when you sell one overseas. Bud

Bud we talked about these boats back in 2008. Bud remember I was in the middle of the Aero knock off's with Jim Klem, Magnum never went after him, and he built them in this country.

If you are good with that's all that matters. Just like the cars of the 60's what would you rather own a Acadian or a Chevy II SS.

Of what I have seen of a lot of Magnums out of the seventies,I will take mine. If you looked at the layup and the one piece cockpit liner you would agree with me. After having restored cars for 30 years I prefer new to old. The boat you posted was not manufactured by Magnum Marine Canada. There was only one deck mould. I have seen them.

Default Magnum real or not

Jim as I stated in my other e-mail to you this is most likley a splash copy of the 27.I will check with Magnum if they had any agreements with Canadian people to produce boats. I am sure it is well built, and I don't think any one is questioned that but it may not be a true Magnum. Bud

I you plug this hull number [ qmcb0102l788] into this U.S. Coast Guard site it has no info. It wasn't built in the U.S.A. ...

Now if you plug in Mag you get this.

Default US Mag

No question it was built in Canada, still would like to know if it was a splashed hull or did they have permission from Magnum.. I am not suggesting that the quality is not there,it may be a well built boat. Bud
