Default Canadian Magnum

There were few Canadian Magnums built from molds that were sold by Magnum however they could never be marketed in the US.I did see a center consul that was for sale just north of Ft Lauderdale last Year. Bud

similar to mine but the deck at the transom is flat and no radar arch. The console is identical, and the bow on mine is flat as well. mine looks like a scarab sport!

Mine looked like a O until I detailed the VIN . I now know for certain its a Q code which confirms its a Canadian Magnum from Beamsville. I was hoping for some intelligent thought on twins vs single--I have to figure this one on my own.

Pirate Racing still owns the old girl. She is for sale race or pleasure ready. $25,000. Would be willing to sale with or without power.

Could you tell us the history of the boat as you know it?

I bought the old Derranged race hull, don't know the age as the dash was gone and a race style dash was in it. The deck was to for gone to be fixed so I then bought a brand new Starfire deck from Magnum and fitted it on the hull and regelled the hole thing black. It runs a single 548 ci 600+ big block. Mercury I.T.S. standoff box with an XZ drive and Sportmaster 2 inch shorty. Boat is great in rough water and can hit 75 mph with ease. We raced it for four seasons I think then bought a vee lite and retired her. She had numerous wins and to speed records for a messured mile in both P-5 and class 500. Now we just use it as a pleasure boat but it doesn't get used as much as we would like to so if anyone is interested it's a lot of boat for 25K.

Magnum made you a new deck? So the mold must still be around?

More folks should hear about this!
Certainly there are a few hulls that could be rebuilt restored with this option!

I believe the deck the Pirate team used was made some time ago for the GRUMPY OLD MEN Mag when George had it. Magnum had one in stock then as George did not use it. And by chance the Pirate team came on it @ the right time when they needed one.

Did GTMM distroy the mold after they poped one out a couple of years ago to make a plug for the new model? The new 27 was started with a new starfire deck and then cut up to be reshaped into the new GTMM27.
