Default Magnum Weight

Hi guys , I am looking to build a trailer for my 27 sport. Does anyone have a good idea of what the boat with small blocks and alpha drives would wiegh , I am thinking that with this set up and full load of fuel it should come in at around 7,500 lbs ?
Any input would be helpful.

Hi,

7,500 lbs sounds on the heavy side, I researched the weight prior to purchasing 'Short Circuit' as my truck has a 7,000lb max towing capacity.

I found references that said ex-factory the 27' Sport was 4800lbs dry (include engines/drives etc.) but no liquids/fuel.

I was figuring probably more like 5,200lb, with the Chevy motors, Bravo Ones and then allow 500 lbs for my 80 gals fuel if tanks are full. Now I'm scared to go weigh it......

The original brochure, of which I have a copy states the weight of a 27 Sport Dry is 4800 lbs. It also states that the fuel tanks for a standard boat hold 100 USG which has a weight of 6.073 lbs/USG. Therefore the total weight with full tanks and Volvo drives which I think will be similar to the Alpha drive would be 5407.3 Lbs plus your own kit at say all up Covers, Lifejackets, ropes, fenders etc etc another 400 lbs at the outside would give you a grand total of circa 5807.3 lbs, well under your 7500 lbs
Regards

That sounds about right, I have a sedan with a tripple axle. We both have probably close to 2000 pounds in the trailer.

Fill up every compartment with valuable and important stuff (sun tan lotion, anchor, tools, motor oil, etc) and you have 7000 pounds.
