Help to identify

Hello new to the forum. I've been searching for a while and have found what I've been told is a 27 foot 1968 Magnum. I was hoping someone on here could help me out on identifying it. Or if there is a hull identification some where on it. I have some photos I could send you. Having trouble trying to post them.

original color was yellow with "Smoker 1 S-33" down the sides

Thanks
John

John,
I'm pretty sure this is NOT a Magnum. Sorry.
1) The strakes are different leading up to the bow. Check pics of the next two post here on the Magnum forum.
2) About 12" down from the deck the Magnums have a distinct "chine line" running the length of the hull-your boat does not have this.
3) Magnums have a true V, the picture of your boat's drive/bottom, has a rounded off V.
To me, it looks more like a Formula or a Seacraft. If you post this on the Classic Forum, "Brownie" use to work at Magnum- and a dozen other companies, and will be able to give you more information. In the 1970's the "S" would have ment that it raced in the Sports class. I'm sure others will post their thoughts...Sorry and can't re-post your pics, I'm sure someone else can help with this.
Good Luck!
Bob

John,
I just found pics of an early 24 Formula, the pics you sent me are a dead ringer for the Formula.
If you are on Facebook, go to "Powerboat Swap Shop" there is pics of a classic Formula for sale by T. Rafael Cimino. This IS the hull you are asking about.

Bud,
I think that John said it was a it was 1968 Hull, , if I am not mistaken the hull/transom numbers (HIN #) didn't start to around 1973 or 1974
My 1973 Sport did not have a hull number (HIN#) on the Transom , it was marked under the dash module in black magic marker.

I could be wrong?

Thank you
jim

My Magnum also has the hull number on the bottom of the seats and inside the instrument cluster.
