Got my Maggie!! Long term build thread intro...

Wow! Cool cars! A good friend owns a '69' Daytona. F6 green with a white interior and a 4 gear.
I just put the drivetrain back in the 68. We built a solid cam 446 with ported heads and intake. Stock appearing but not inside.
I put it in from the bottom this time like they did from the factory.

Murf,
Allow me to ask why are you going through all this effort on such a heavy Old school trailer? I also contemplated this and with the immensity of work that's required to restore the boat alone, I ultimately elected to save myself time and a lot of money and buy a Nexttrail aluminum trailer. This is so much better than a trailer than what you're looking at restoring, from towing weight to launching simplicity, lower ride height, and a better ride for the boat.
Just a question, please take no offense!

While I'm waiting for the connecting rods to come in (Backordered) I tore into the trailer, removed the keel rollers and old bunks, and cut off the fenders and steps along with the bow stop / winch stand, hope to get it sandblasted next week, then I will replace the fenders, make some new steps, Build a new 2 piece winch stand and bow stop and repaint the trailer, replace the lights with LEDs, and install the new 4x6 bunks. Once I get the hull close to finished, I'll reload it and locate the keel bunks and install them. I also bought a set of wheels to match my Ramcharger. The previous owner installed electric drum brakes and since they are like new, I'm going to run them until I have problems with them and eventually convert them to EOH discs.

After looking at a nextrail trailer undecided to make exactly what I wanted instead of buying a new one than changing it. I will be boating mostly in freshwater so steel is not an issue. I also have a own a Cummins and a V10 Ram so weight is not an issue. I bought the trailer for 700.00 and have spent another 300$ on the fenders, steel and LED lights. When all is said and done I will have 1800-2000 in the trailer

I like the old school look of gauges, an reality there will be 10 Gauges total, 2 each of Tach, Oil Pressure, Temp, Volts, and Fuel level. I think Vessel View is great on new boats, but would be way out of place on a classic. That and the fact that Vessel View would never work on Chrysler engines and Volvo outdrives anyway.

Came across these on Craigslist, would be cool to run. Too bad the rb transmissions would be needed too. Would put one in my dart.
