I am goin with a Teleflex hydraulic cylinder that mounts inside to where the steering cable would mount and a stainless tie bar mounted at the tab bolts, may end up with a tie bar inside as well.

I am actually considering the stock Volvo Power Steering setup but I never thought about a hydraulic cylinder on the inside. I'd like to keep the outside of the transom clean

I have the Hynautic cyl on the inside of the transom on my twin engine 24' Cobra that raced as SMIDGEN TOO back in the day. This set up works but your using the Volvo tiller arm & gimbals, just more mechanical stuff to service..

I picked up my plywood, and made 2 stands for my outdrives, I copied the one from the forums here, but changed the fork to fit the Volvo

Allow me to make a suggestion..
Cut the very bottom straight across and eliminate the whole saw cut for the center drain hole.
This will make it easier to fiberglass. Build up that lower triangle to be twice as thick which will allow you to install a brass drain plug, threaded w/o through drilling the screw holes.

Friday after work I drove out to meet up with Glassdave and pick up my VE, Corebond,CSM, and VE. What a great guy! I cleaned the shop over the weekend an rearranged my toys to give me a better working space, and the ability to access my lift if needed for any maintnence/work on the vehicle fleet, unfortunately getting ready for winter....

Today I got home from work and mixed up some VE, and glassed my transom wood together, only had to call Dave once for guidance lol

Didn'ty get any pictures while I was actually glassing, I was too concerned about time...

IU left the "Mouse hole" around the bilge drain so I could clamp it with a apiece of 2x4 and a thru bolt when bonding it to the transom, I will fill the hole with 1708 and resin when I'm glassing everything in.

I believe they are. I swapped a 290 onto late sixties Donzi Corsican. I sourced a mint 290 from a local yard but ran into the same prob with the gear ratio. After getting into the nuts and bolts a bit I realized the upper gear housing was the same and I just swapped them no prob.
