Exactly the same hull as Don's 1967 Magnum 27 triple outboard. At the end of the season he sold that to Tage Boghammar to make a mold of. Boghammar turned

the mold into an inboard/outboard and the hull became an honest 28 feet. Most of these Boghammar 28 boats made from 1968 and on were 28 Hardtop boats.

They later were produced by other manufacturers under license from Boghammar, and Boghammar made some 30', 32', and 35' boat. Here are photos of Don's

1967 outboard that they bought, a 28 Hardtop, and a video of a Boghammar Magnum 35' commuter from the mid 1990s. The bottom is a regular straight one in

all their Magnum boats. Same beam as Don's boat, just 'stretcho grande' as Brownie calls it.

How are the Boghammar-built boat laid up?

South Florida heavy or Scandinavian light?

The two early 28' offshore racing boats were fairly heavy laid up. The 1968 and on 28 Hardtops were way to light and since many customers drove

them spirited, it became an issue. Therefore Boghammar eventually had other shops produce the 28-footers and let them sell them, and they concentrated

on the larger versions and built most of those to commercial service standards. Especially the 35 footers were built with amazing quality of construction.
