Place is awesome so far. I can't think of a nice lake so close to a large city anywhere else.

How far is Lanier from ATL?

I haven't been on Lanier but it's situated about the same distance from the city as Norman. Likewise for Lake Murray to Columbia. Lake Murray has a poker run this coming Saturday, May 10. I haven't made it to Norman yet this season, and next 2 weekends are bike week in MB, (lots of out of town company) but after that hope to do a lot of boating on Norman this summer. It has a lot of good watering holes.
