21mph winds from the South West, Nick if you run the Active at a slight diagnal you could pick up some mph with the tail wind. No need to shave your head :lolhit:

blues and greens if I remember right? He put up 78 last year but said he could do 82

Talked to Hurley at GooseBay yesterday. He said the tide has been high all week because of the sw winds. The water was completely over the pier at the boat ramp. It was higher than the seawall and water was past the gas pumps back to the first row of trailers. Hope this doesnt put alot of trash in the river. Keep your eyes open if you are driving down to Fairview in the morning.:eek:

Hey Eddy!

I hope you can make it.

If you choose to go the route listed above, keep in mind that Rt. 218 in VA in a very narrow winding rd. Some of the VA guys may chime in with other options.

I'm putting in around 20 miles to the south at http://www.goosebaymarina.com/ It's pretty convienent from Rt 301.

Dave

Richmonders can come 95 to exit 104 Ft AP Hill/ 301 North
go like 35 miles to RTE 3 west (left)
go about 5 miles turn Rt on 609 a couple of miles to 218
this may be better then going into Fredericksburg then down 218 for 15 miles.

Thanks for the news. Sounds like putting in at Smallwood would better for me.

Brian C 10-14-2011 11:13 AM

What's the word? Still going to happen with 15 to 25mph winds?

BobbyB 10-14-2011 11:29 AM

I was out this morning and there was alot of little stuff floating in front of aqualand. And tide was way up yesterday.

dreamboater 10-14-2011 11:51 AM

His name is Mit. Good guy, friend of mine. He is planning on coming

James 10-14-2011 03:15 PM

Weather forecast is not good for Saturday, maybe calm early but by 10:00 winds will be strong. Sunday is looking much better up until 1:00 then wids pickup again.

Just got off the phone with Mike 540-295-1504. Mike does not have a way to get in touch with each person so he said give him a call to get the latest update. Mike says it needs to be calm enough for everyone to run. Mike said he can run the event on Sunday if Saturday is a blow out.

My .02cents says wait until Sunday and get it done early

Jpzaluski 10-14-2011 03:15 PM

Don't let a little bit of wind scare you.

seltzer 10-14-2011 04:09 PM

He needs to make a decision soon.
I dont want to waste a saturday.

45sonic 10-14-2011 04:28 PM

Let's make a call here

jdflchr 10-14-2011 07:18 PM

Can someone please tell me what time this radar run starts?

Brian C 10-14-2011 07:18 PM

Weatherchannel.com is calling for 22mph winds do we really think the forcast will be off by enough to run? Not trying to sound like a dic but people are trying to make plans.

jdflchr 10-14-2011 07:34 PM

Here is the forecast,

SAT
W WINDS 10 TO 15 KT WITH GUSTS TO 25 KT. WAVES 2 FT.

SAT NIGHT
SW WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. GUSTS UP TO 20 KT EARLY IN THE
EVENING. WAVES 1 FT.

West winds isn't going to be bad there, But I would like to know if this is going to happen or not.

dreamboater 10-14-2011 08:00 PM

25 kt winds will make it tough to put up big numbers.

seltzer 10-14-2011 08:04 PM

Well, in the spirit of "Run what you brung" that's the way it goes. The conditions will be a factor for all particiapants. If speeds are down, so be it.

I think trying shuttle people from boats to the dock in high winds / waves is the biggest problem.

James 10-14-2011 09:36 PM

For the bennifit of the guys coming from outta town blow this off until better weather forecast..........Sunday 10:00 is looking good........Tims II is happy to have customers any time , but flat water will make for a great show on Sunday

seltzerII 10-14-2011 10:29 PM

Radar Run Is Still On

AS OF 6AM THIS MORNING, THE RADAR RUN IS STILL ON. I just got off the phone with one of the official organizers, (Mike S.) and the river is glass at TIMMS II. A final decision will be made at start time, but as of now it is still a go

Jeff:evilb:

Linster 10-15-2011 06:12 AM

The wind just picked up at Colonial Beach a few miles down river. Wind is blowing from WSW with so that will favor Fairview I think. That would make it rough down by Gilligan's. The water just has some ripples at this point.

So far I would say it's breezy at times but still light winds. I live in king george about 10 miles as the crow flies from the river

It will get really rough in the early afternoon when the tide switches around for those traveling up river to come to this.

Linster 10-15-2011 07:28 AM

I think I am just driving, no boat passengers to help w the wind. It will get rough today.
