Great time, great turn out. Big thanks to Mike S, Frank, Guy and all the rest who put this on.

Whoever that guy is in the small outboard vee is an absolute wild man

seltzer 10-15-2011 06:11 PM

It would have been nice if it started on time before the 30 mph winds kicked up. But i heard the organizers needed a couple shots to get their nerves up to hold the radar gun. :party-smiley-004:

Shout out to Randy Nuzzo for coming up and taking pictures.
He doesn't do it for charity, if you see a nice shot of your boat don't be scared to buy it. Maybe he'll come back

Beak Boater 10-15-2011 07:58 PM

Thanks to Frankie and Mike for getting this together. Also to Tims 2 for their hospitality.

NOT fast enough! :evilb:

I had a great time. The ride back to the Mattawoman was interesting, I don't think I ever saw that leg of the river that rough.

Thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers. :drink:

+1 Very impressive!!

Dave M 10-16-2011 06:44 PM

I have to say that the conditions definitely benefited me. I topped my best speed since owning the boat. I think that small Velocity would of outran all the other single v's if it was flat.

BTW, who got 1st and 2nd in twin V?, 2nd in single V, and 3rd in twin cat?

Jpzaluski 10-16-2011 07:27 PM

As I understand it 1st was the Fighting Irish 42' Fountain, and 2nd was Randy's (Beak Boaters) 38' Fountain

Potomac Fever 10-16-2011 08:19 PM

That velocity is bad azz, it has opened many an eye on the river, water condition was not in his favor, Tom has been know to let her rip....

I ran into Tom one day in my previous boat and I know he's pretty fast. My best according to the gun was 79.

Potomac Fever 10-16-2011 08:35 PM

awsome, would have loved to have seen less winds, you all would have done better. great number!!!

Fighting Irish ran 115, I think. My GPS said 112 but the gun had me at 108.

grapeape 10-17-2011 09:04 AM

What speeds does that velocity have on a good day when water conditions favor him?

I believe he was 82, 83 on gps at one time, i remember it was low 80's been a while since i have talked to him

Brian C 10-17-2011 06:54 PM

Glad you came along for the ride. Don't go telling everybody about my 77mph barge. All that weight didn't help much on the way back, my insides still hurt.

Charlie, what's the chances of hitting you up for a ride next year? That thing really is a beast!
