Hey Knot. Been a while since I had a boat on Clinton Lake. I'll be able to see it every day though starting next week. Going to be at the power plant for a few months. Formula 2 boat races this weekend at Peoria.

gare 06-16-2007 09:02 AM

OOPs. Guess that's PWRQWST that's on Clinton Lake. Bet it doesn't take that Avenger long to get from one end to the other.

Can't believe I'm the first one to say CHICAGO!
Actually, normally I'm on a lift at Hammond Marina in Indiana, about 14 miles east of Chi-town, but it's closed this year to enlarge the Horseshoe Casino (as if it needs to be bigger), so I'm trailer trash. Already been to LOTO and southwest Michigan...boat is currently in MI for the next month, then its back home for the Chicago Poker Run.

Ya that sucks they messed up the marina, will it be open next year? I liked to go down there and play around right outside the marina and drop the anchor near the beach. Like they need another Casino anyway.

Don't be jealous Richard....

You got a committed crew for the shootout yet? Its about time to lock in the lodging, last word I heard from you was you were staying elsewhere. You still bailing on us or spooning with Pratt again?

PWRQWST 06-20-2007 10:52 AM

Don't know yet I told everyone I need to know by the first of July. I should have it figured out by then. I'm going to LOTO this week so I won't be around this weekend.

Rich.

I'm on Clinton Lake too. I'm slipped on Dock 3. We got quite the crew on the dock and weekend tie-ups are always a blast. I've got a buddy slipped in Eastport so I do make the river a few times each year.

Who is at Eastport? Where would you recommend to go/ launch at Clinton Lake? 35' Fountain ok for that size lake?

Thanks,
Zack

I'm kind of curious too. Last time I was at Clinton was 9 years ago. Shelbyville has become our favorite close lake, maybe Clinton is worth another try?

Use the Clinton Lake Marina to launch. $5 but worth every penny.

Lake is in good shape, plenty of water. Downfall is not alot of coves like shelbbyville. But on a regular basis we have tied up:
29 Powerquest
30 Formula
33 Outlaw
28 Donzi
26 Chap
28 Rinker cruiser
27 Rinker
38 Powerquest
32 Sunsation
28 Sunsation
27 Crownline
26 Checkmate
21 sea ray

A 35 fountain cannot find water on clinton that will upset it. Ramp is plenty big, wide, and deep to launch at the Marina. Do not use any of the other ramps in my opinion.

kyoung 06-23-2007 01:56 PM

Mississippi River in Quincy IL

Dock 3 is a blast, no doubt.

A friend of mine (Scott) in a 32' Carver on Dock G. i think cbgenrl hit it on the head concerning your questions on Clinton Lake.

Illinois River in the Marseilles Pool between Seneca & Morris.
Somtimes on the Fox chain and Chicago.

Hey Rich how you been I meet you at LOTO Last year.

Where is a good place to go and stay @ Lake Shelbyville??

Dave:D

Frequency 06-25-2007 03:03 PM

Lake Shelbyville

We stay at Eagle Creek Resort (www.eaglecreekresort.com). There is a good ramp close by, they have trailer parking and new docks. Indoor and outdoor pools. They have a decent restaurant and a nightclub/bar. :drink:

boss252 06-26-2007 07:36 AM

Mississippi River, Quincy IL and LOTO and sometimes Mark Twain Lake
