In the past, PC has been pretty quiet after Labor Day. And with the crowd of locals looking to run P class saturday, I think we're going to hang out around the course both saturday and sunday.
BTW, Backwaters friday, watch races saturday, Shady Gators saturday night.

Hi All, new to this forum, but looks like lots of race fans here. We are new to the OSS world and looking very forward to this. But can anyone tell me what is up with the constantly changing course maps? From the start I've heard from the 6-9, which would have put the race in front of our house. But then...
Looking at the first map, the far end turn would have been in front of the twin islands, but NOW looks like it won't even get THAT far. Almost like the course has shrunk from the 6-9 to the 6-7. We are basically at the 8.5.
It is a poor map to be sure, but we'd sure like to think we'll be able to see SOME of it without binoculars. We are on the point right by the twin islands, and have a bunch of people showing up. CAn anyone tell me if at least the racers might overshoot the course a little considering that I imagine they can't just turn on a dime...

I dont think they can turn on a dime, but you can bet they'll turn before the red no anchor line on the map.

Hi rdoactive, thanks. That's what I'm afraid of. We were so excited to have it in our front yard, and terribly disappointed to see the map. It now looks like they'll be close, but not in front of us by quite a distance. Check out this link and you can see what we can see from our deck. I'd love an opinion on our viewing area...

This links to our live webcams streaming from our lower deck. In the North cam, you are looking at Toad Cove on the right. We are thinking about facing both cams North for the race, but the cams are nothing compared to eyes! We can't afford hi-res cams yet

We'll be down Friday through Sunday. We don't have any plans for anything yet. I thought we'd just wing it! We'll probably tie up on Saturday to watch some racing and then check out a few other places. We need to organize an OSO hangout spot for Friday night.
