Doesn't look a$$ heavy to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYmE3VB8IfY

I think what you see at LOTO is the fact that WL is not running hard a lot of the time and the bow rides high.
Yes i know it ran 100 when new in salt. But several things have changed on set up. I know for a fact right now it cant run 100. That is a fact

Jim Darr, the "expert" speaks. I'm continually amazed that you keep coming back here Darr! Don't you get it? You are a joker. ZERO credibility. Seriously man, go get help.

All 41 Sabers are NOT notched I believe, as the Legend is not notched either. The 41 apaches are notched. So the need for the boxes for the SAME distance is needed off of the bottom.

See pics of the transoms of both.... ad you can see on the pic of the Legend at ATS that it is not notched.

not disagreeing, the notch is really only going to affect the x dim and set up, to allow to be able to run it with no boxes, one would also have to see if the inside lifting strakes on the saber come further back on the bottom. the sooner they stop, the more the boat will ride on the pad, all the way back will bring the boat higher out of the water. in conclusion with a notch it may not need it, but it may benefit from it. and without a notch even furthers my point of the center of gravity being changed, with the propulsion being further back more wetted surface out front.

1.How do you know thats a fact? Have you drove it wide open and it didnt hit 100??

2. Its got bigger motors..so why wouldnt it run faster then it did with the 1000s??

3. Whats its matter if it cant run 100?

4. What kinda boat you run?? Can your boat run 95+ at loto on any weekend and soak it up like its running on smooth water???

I always that the the reason for the boxes are for weight distributon and for the props to be in cleaner water..The more weight off the back of the boat the more distributed weight toward the back...causing it to allow the nose to run more free and out of the water...the same concept of as setbacks on outboads...

that is true, but it's a double edged sword, when you move the propulsion point further back, it has to push harder to get the wetted surface up and flowing. think of it as a fulcrum and a seesaw, if dead middle is balanced and you set the weight further to one side, you change the set up and balance. then you have to account for the speed that you will have to maintain to keep the load balanced and level with out going too far. thats why setups vary so much per boat.
