1000 Islands 2010 - PHOTOS
I have left the country.
Hanging up here with our neighbors to the north- enjoying the hospitality of my good friends Alec and Bob. Got the tour around Lake Simcoe and points north yesterday and drank a beer with Airpacker while he took a break from heavy construction. Today we traveled over to Kingston and had a little boat ride in the Donzi. Bluellama supplied the beer. Wandered the docks for a while, lots of boats and friendly people in this beautiful part of the world. Looking forward to a great time on the run tomorrow. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4136/...80cbd678_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4074/...2d1dcdb1_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4098/...f03f066a_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4117/...a801af83_o.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4120/...d4f06473_o.jpg |

Nice to see you again Jay and welcome to Canada. We will hopefully have a great day today and you will see lots of boats and thousands of Islands on the beautiful waters of the St Lawrence River. I was joking with Jay that he will not likely get many bikini shots here today even tho we have had had a great summer. We will look forward to more great pics from Jay. :)

I really like this place- beautiful country up here.

Wow, beautiful scenery and it looks like plenty of awesome offshore hardware.
Have fun. |

Fantastic shots, Jay. Especially like the ones with the reflections in the water. As always, thanks for sharing.
|
The natural beauty of the Thousand Islands coupled with the mechanical beauty of top equipment. It is captured by an artistic genius.
Thanks Jay. |
Great stuff, Jay. Makes me want to head way up North and check it out. Looks like good weather and a lot of beautiful machines around. We are counting on you, with confidence, to get the best shots of the most spectacular scenery-and boats-around. I will checking this thread all weekend for your posts!

Unbelievable crowds were everywhere. Groups of people all up and down the river, and here... at the lunch stop, there were thousands of people to see the boats.

As with any event this size, it doesnt happen without volunteers. The people that manned the Marshall Boats sat out in areas that in many instances was sloppy rough water all day to make sure we were all safe and got home without incident.
Big THANK YOU to all of you for the great job. The host city of Kingston crowds, the folks at Brockville lunch stop, the steady line of spectators on and off the water along the route added up to multi thousands. Lots of high fives and thumbs up for sure !!!!! 22nd annual 1000 ISLANDS POKER RUN. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A huge success. |
Fantastic pics Jay. Great to see the Islands shot through your lens...
Huge thanks to Bob, Predator North runs beautiful, and it was really good to be able to spend time with you again. You're a gracious host and a hell of a boat driver. Alec, it was great to finally meet you, thanks for making me feel like we've been long time friends, next time I'll make sure to clear my family schedule, and we will really see what kind of damage we can do :) Jay, thanks again for the great pics. I've got to work on the shoot from the hip photo style. :} Your laid back attitude is always fun to be around. We'll catch up again in FMB this winter. The people of Kingston sure put on phenomenal event, I hope the City can figure out what they have, and don't screw it up. Thanks again guys, it was an epic weekend. :) One last thought, Alec and I were stainding on the pier in Brockville after lunch, Bob was bringing the boat back from the fuel dock, I handed Alec my camera to make sure Bob's Donzi didn't hit the cement, after a second I looked at Bob, looked back at Alec, and said "what the hell was I thinking? It's Bob, hand me my camera back, he doesn't need my help" Once again Bob slid the Donzi into it's spot the way most guys run a 12 foot aluminum fishing boat :) |

was there early sat am with my 6yr son, had a cup of java in the radisson and bumped into greg (aquamania owner) and nothing but a perfect gentleman and the whole crew of aquamania, all really cool, ive got some great video of them moments before gearing up, they huddled around a quick prayer(the whole team including wives) and then a round of applause from the many onlookers and then all business......some awsome pieces of hardware....and one REAL close call with one (not sure of make but all red hull and ferrari powered) leaving the dock in kingston, he lost power and thought forsure he was going to smack a dock or wall, literally gets it fired back up and makes it out ok but we are talking inches, also a real slick looking boat was the statement boat with 1075's... real cool event
