Everything is stupid expensive these days, especially high performance or specialty products. I feel your Pain. Got my second engine on the Dyno warming it up for a few pulls and the MEFI lost spark. Swapped in the ECM from the other engine that ran Great. Tune was totally off for some reason and down 10% in HP and TQ. So Try finding a MEFI 4B ECM these days. Prices for a used one start at 3X what a new one used to cost if one can be found with no guarantee it works. Found out there is major leak down in two cylinders one in each head. Knew the Heads on the engines would not go back on once off again and just ordered 2 new sets of bare AFR's. 6-8 week delivery, will turn out to be longer for sure. Went with the biggest 24 degree heads as the first engine started to lay over at 1345 hp. Great looking switches when finished the boat will be a show piece for sure. |
