Your boat ran 61(GPS) at 4400' elevation before you worked on it? That is pretty impressive! Most Heats that I've seen only run 63-64 at sea level with the stepped hull and 496HO...

Yes 61 (gps) at 4400' with 24 bravo, 62 at 3600' with 24 bravo and 64 at 600' with 26 bravo - I thought that was slow.

Not bad for a Budweiser mechanic! Good luck, that is a fast Heat my old one would only run 62 - 63 on its best day! Non step 502 mpi spinning a 24 B!

Kokopelli,
I would check your fuel pressure. Low fuel pressure would show the symptoms your motor is exhibiting. Could be clogged pick up, kinked line(s), stopped up filters, defective pumps, etc.
Regards,
Steve

Yesterday air temp was about 50 and water temps were very cold - snow run off. Ran it on the scan tool today and it would only warm to 70 and was throwing a cold temp code. Pulled the thermostat housing and the retaining sleeve that directs water was missing (I didn't even know there was supposed to be one) put one in and the boat warmed right up to 162. Also found timing to be a couple degrees off so that was reset as well. I'm going to run it out to the lake again tomrrow after work and test it. This time I'll take my tools and a fresh set of plugs in case.
Probably worked fine for someone that lives in a warmer environment but not here at this time of year.
I found the same thing on the R-Tech deal I just finished up but was able to change the enrichment temp on that one. Another month and we won't have any problems.
The ice is off Pineview so I at least hope to run up and down the lake once. Leaving for the poker run Thursady afternoon

Re: Installed EMI's, mufflers and new plugs and I'm slower!!
Thanks all for your sugestions and help. I'm running right again. Went back out to the lake and it was running rough but at least warming up. Pulled all the NGK BR6FS plugs I had switched to and replaced with ac delco R43TS ( what was in it before) and the boat ran flawlessly. RPM back to 4900 but only running 59mph, but it was 20 degrees warmer and I had full tanks. Figured I better fill up before it hits $4 a gallon - Can't wait to see what it will cost on the water this summer - any guesses?
