I would definately talk to people with seat time.....
People that use the boat every weekend, day in and day out.

Depending on who you talk to, speeds will be all over the map and opinions will too. In short, do as much front-end work as you can. Summer is a long way out, make an educated decision.

Happy Boating.

I have spent quite a bit of time on john lomants boat and it is extremely impressive. It handles any lake chop that you can throw at it, been in the gulf of mexico @ over 85 mph and it looks killer too. after one ride in this boat my wife told me to sell our fountain and by a cat(which i did) besides all of that you will no find some one that is as anal about maintainence/service as john.

I wish it was that easy, I just want insurance on a HO to be reasonable. Sounds like a great plan.

But as to this thread, I've heard there's a porpoise issue on the original hull's, but the new ones don't have it at all, (like John's I believe) and they are quite efficient as I understand.

I'd suggest talking with the owners about the porpoise, and taking it for a spin if they say it isn't an issue. I really like this one, and it has been for sale a while, but a lot of boats have been these days.

The porpoise is due to untrained drivers. I learned a lot from the Tres Martin school. All of the 07 and newer boats are great boats the 08's are suppose to be faster but the fastest boat to date was a 07 with a teague 900, 118gps in powerboat magazine and it had the single step bottom. I pay 2400 a year for insurance with a 525 but it should come down after the first year is up.

Ahhh

I wouldn't call Tim a salesman......

He doesn't have to be.....

He lets his product sell itself.

Chris
