Default Thinking out loud

1st off, this not an ad in the owners forum, it's just that we are thinking about selling our 2000 Flame, and I'm looking for opinions from Nordic owners as to what they think it would sell for.
It's a tough decision, it's paid for, but I think we might want to go a little bigger

Any input would be appreciated. I know this is not a good time to sell it but.......

Thanks,
Dean
BTW, it's got 502 MPI w/ about 380 hrs. and all options. It was Nordic's 2000 LA Boat show display boat for Flames, at least that's what I've been told by Lonnie...

Here's some pics of her,

L,
So if I can get 65,000 on trade towards a 200,000 boat, I think that's a pretty good trade $$? Is my thinking skewed? I know I could do better on the 200k boat if I sold my Flame outright, and took the cash to the dealer, but it's tough time to try and sell just about anything.....

Thanks,
Dean

J,
With the way the boat market is these days, the boats available are just about unlimited.

I'm looking @ a 38 ft Stepped V-hull w/ staggered, (Maybe not after reading about all the problems with 525 header leaks) power.

Did you end up selling your 35?
Thanks,
Dean

Keep it, put new motors in it. Just like new.

Dwane,
They only wanted to give you $65,000 for your 2002 Flame?!
What motors do you have in it, if you don't mind me asking. i think that's what is hurting my $$ value, is my 502 MPIs.

And yes, I'm toying with the idea of putting new motors in it and just keeping it, ( I have a pair of HP500 Carb motors w/ ~ 80 hours on them) that I would "Tweak" a little and install them.

The one dealer I'm dealing with is willing to give me $100,000 trade value for my boat/trailer and the HP500's!

Dean

You're right, there are some very attractive deal out there now. You must be looking a Fountain or a Cig. Whatever you get you will love the staggered after playing in the engine compartment of the Flame. I traded mine, huge convenience factor if a dealer has the one you want. I wouldn't put any more money in the boat. I would trade it in with the engines it has for the boat and power you really want and sell the 500's out right for beer, gas money and poker runs.
