Well I found a Merlin II 9.8 deck 572 with Merlin pro heads, 4.625 bore and a 4.250 stroke that a friend had Drew Marine build and i picked up for a good deal. So it looks like I'm going to try a big ci, n\a motor. I relly hope that this one has more ponys than the Whippled 496 and pushes the boat alittle faster. It was put together very well and has lots of good parts inside. Scat crank, hbeam rods, Vinolia pistons exc What do you guys think????? I was told it should be a 700hp motor but alot of the inside stuff in the motor is way over my head.
