Default Sold my motor what's next!!!!

Well I sold my Whipple 496 out of my heat and now I'm looking for new power. I'm thinking about the 575 in the classifieds but not sure yet. I would like to replace it with alittle more power but do not want to kill my xr that has done me good and not given me any truble. So 650 to 700 max and a smoken deal and we will be set what do you think!!! Anything out there

I know where you can get a 575 complete take off system in great shape for $3000. You would need a base 502 to build it on. I can you details if you want.

I like supercharged motors the best!

But if you could get a 710 Ilmor or even better...a 725...you would be at or slightly above 90 mph.

The relatively low torque of these motors (compared to a supercharged motor of the same displacement)... is pretty easy on drives.

You could probably find some take-out 710's from Ilmor or others...that are upgrading to the 725 motors.

Just my two cents.

I'd build a quality naturally aspirated 540. It will have similar power to your Whippled 496 and be bullet proof. You can always add a supercharger later if you get bored...

Bob is correct...

I have built several naturally aspirated 540's that put out between 665 and 705 hp... with them typically being right around 685 hp. For that matter, you could easily hit between 700 and 750 hp with a naturally aspirated 565 for about the same money.

700-750 naturally aspirated hp would be very easy on your XR drive also.

It also makes sense...that if you got bored later down the road...it would be a great platform for a Whipple.

I've also been doing alot a research on Ilmors. I actually have a 625 setting in my floor for a 26 Daytona we are gonna build. Think I'm gonna buy another 625 for a project we got coming up. I have talked to tons of people including Bob Mason and EVERYONE says that are having good luck and Love them!!! Just my .02...

On the other hand here is what I did.... :-0
