Default Heat Props

Hello I have a 05 heat 496ho and I was wondering what the best prop is for them? I'm thinking about trying a powertech OFX4 blade in a 25 pitch. Can anybody help me out here?

I had a Bravo one 26 on mine when it had a 496HO ... It was a rocket out of the hole, and a all around great prop.... We run at about 650' elevation.

What kind of speed did you get with the 496ho?

The boat ran a true 68-70mph in ideal conditions with no gas or load and got there quick.. 65 all the time loaded... I think those numbers are correct, I will have to look back and check to be for sure...

The Bravo 1 26" or Hydromotive Q4-X 26" would be my recommendation. I've heard of Powertech but never run their props. Starting to hear some good things about the guy in California who's making Bravo replicas. Can't remember the name, but Chris knows him.

Stock Merc 496HO? Serious? GPS? I was lucky to hit 62 at sea level in the summer...I know HP 500EFIs that barely got over 70. Tried a stock 26 and couldn't push it, tried a labbed 26 too and lost too much cruise.

Stock 415HP 502 mag:
Mine came with a 26p bravo 1 and spun 4800-4900 running 65 on my gps. Put a 24p on and could only get 63.

2008 Heat CB
496 HO
Dana headers and adjustable fuel pressure regulator
stock ECM
Bravo 1 26p turning 5050 rpm at WOT
Ran about 4900 rpm with the same prop. Top end was right around 70 under perfect conditions before headers. Now 70 is easy and can do 73 under good conditions (half tanks and only me I'm the boat)
